Good deal you got the brakes done already. I figured it's be a few days before you even got to it.

The door handle problem is a common problem with these years trucks. I think the cable is stretched, I just haven't messed with it since I stiffened up the door. I was going to find an 80's era truck and get the rods out of it, it's a much better set up.

Hey Bob it was good to see ya there, I don't get to your neighborhood anymore, like I used to be able to.

Well they got me schedualed to work Thursday, Friday and Saturday nites this week, it bites, as I got a few side jobs to do this weekend.

Lee, like I said earlier, the brakes still aren't right, but they at least work now without that blown caliper in the front. The rotor on the driver's side was paper thin. You were just about into the vents on the rotor. (sheesh!)

I have the doors off that '90 Ford I can take parts off of if I need to. As soon as these other two trucks are outta here, I'll get crackin' on your truck again.

My 12 year old daughter announced that she is thinking about saving up her allowances & monetary gifts and buying a car to fix up to drive when she gets her license. She saw an old postal Jeep for sale the other day for $500 and that set her to thinking. It would be easy to say "Awwww How cute" except that she has already saved up $200.

I guess I better start keeping my eyes open...

Anyone have a spare GM NP241c laying around? Aluminum, chain driven, pass side drop.

I would caution against old postal jeeps. They're weird, and they're only 2wd. I guess if you put a blower on it and mini-tub it, it might be alright.

Fortunately - she doesn't have enough for that one yet and I'm too broke to spot her the rest. I would prefer to see her with something a bit larger than that anyhow.

Good Morning Everybody!

My daughter said something like this as well. I told her I'd help her out if she put in the effort to build a car. If she bought a car, she was on her own. It's disappointing, but my girls have no determination. I saved up $800 when I was 15 to buy my '64 Chevelle. Actually, I bought two '64 Chevelles for $800. THEN I had to build one out of the two. Cora? Doesn't seem to realize how close she is to turning 16. She's 14 now and I'll bet a large sum of money the next time she thinks about a car is when she turns 16. Dad WILL NOT help until she exhibits some form of motivation to help herself get a car.

Alan, I had pretty much the opposite with my daughter. Her first car was a 73 Triumph Spitfire I bought under the premise it was a TR6(for me to keep). We got to the doc's house to pick it up and I was sorely let down but she was ecstatic. She was 14 and was determined to have it. We did the body work and repainted it twice, first time was 99BMW Titanium Silver and the color didn't have the same pop as she thought it should have. We then repainted it Torch Red and she was happy with it for a few days til I bought a blown up 93 C-word Z71. Triumph went down the road and we sunk the money into the truck. She "drove" she didn't have a license so her fiance drove it or his little S10 ZR2 it for three years and got engaged. The old truck wasn't good enough for her and now she drives an Equinox or sumpin along those lines. She got her license in the last two years (she's 23 and expecting our second grandchild in April). Dang I rambled. Suffice to say, she worked to pay for her cars and worked on her cars. I'm very proud of her and her husband, now if she'd just get over her disdain for her mother.
