RC, I thought you went and got some trim the last couple days. Getting a little trim off a Pontiac sounds so wrong. Getting a little trim in a 54 Pontiac sounds a lot better.
ha ha ha ha .."playing with trains" is that a new term for it....
Well it was either playing with trains or stuck in hell. Went the lesser of two evils. Between the guy I was working with last night, the computer issues with the locomotive and radio tower issues; I was beyond ready for bed this morning. Too bad my nap didn't last longer than 4 hours. By the way, if you think there's too many electronics on your car...the locomotives we've got at work are way worse. The one we had last night was flashing all kinds of errors on the computer screens, $2 million bucket of bolts.
My daughter said something like this as well. I told her I'd help her out if she put in the effort to build a car. If she bought a car, she was on her own. It's disappointing, but my girls have no determination. I saved up $800 when I was 15 to buy my '64 Chevelle. Actually, I bought two '64 Chevelles for $800. THEN I had to build one out of the two. Cora? Doesn't seem to realize how close she is to turning 16. She's 14 now and I'll bet a large sum of money the next time she thinks about a car is when she turns 16. Dad WILL NOT help until she exhibits some form of motivation to help herself get a car.
That's pretty much what I think about the subject as well. If my kids aren't willing to work and pitch in to support a vehicle then they won't be having one. Their old man isn't made out of money.
WOO HOO! I finished up the Bravada today. The exhaust gave me fits, the trans cooler line gave me fits, the cooling system gave me fits, the electrical gave me fits, ...etc, etc. etc. It finally runs like a new one. As soon as I get the exhaust manifold squared away on the dent, the owner can send the lowboy after these trucks. I hope he doesn't have anything else for me for a while.
One of the other garages in town stopped by today. He said he's having a problem keeping up with the workload. He asked if I can do an engine swap or two for him. I told him to give me a few days until I can catch up and I'd be glad to.
I may just be able to get the Chevelle done in short order this year if this keeps up.
alan when you get up..i wanted to ask you if you had a small carb.. needs to fit a spread bore manifold... i think the biggest would be maybe 500cfm.. for a 4.3 litre i am gong to put in that mg..the one i have has that electric controlled metering rods that i dont like. my girlfriend needs a car.. after i get my daughters going... i need to get than a4ld out and took apart so i can massage its guts a little
RC, I have a couple Q-jets. I'll look and see what CFM they are.
I think I'm gonna switch gears and play with Lee's truck a little. It works out that I'll meet Rich in Springfield on Saturday to get that manifold. I need a break from those Arkansas trucks. It's nice to wake up and NOT see that Bravada in the driveway.
My sister-in-law gave us a few dozen eggs the other day. Apparently her chickens like the warm weather too. They've been laying like crazy lately. I had me some scrambled eggs for breakfast along toast and my coffee. I'm all set for the day now.
