Good Morning all! Got the edelbrock 4 barrel intake for my 400. Got it off cl for $50. I went with it cause I already have a carb for it that is rebuilt, and I wont have to rebuild the 2 barrel carb on it.
So more hp, no rebuild 2 barrel carb which more than likely I would replace with a 4 barrel anyways down the road. All for 50, good day in the garage! Usually goes the otherway! Lol
Ive been lookin on cl every week, since I wasnt in a hurry, I found it. when im in a hurry, I never find it. He wanted 75, but I did have to drive about 30 miles.
Morning gentlemen, looks like it's going to be a rainy day for a bit today. Guess it could be more exciting if it was falling as that white stuff.

It just so happens I did an axle seal for a guy going to the same VA in Fayetteville. He even described where to go in the hospital and who to talk to. They gave me $90 travel pay. My mother used to do that, but I don't know if she can still draw the travel pay since she uses the van to go to LR. What helps her the most is the VA clinic they opened 5-6 years ago back home in FSM. The VA is one of the few things our government doesn't spend enough money on just on the simple principal of what the VA does; if you ask me.

Brian. That car is an OBD II car. You can't clear codes by unhooking the battery. You have to use a code reader to do it. (which I have) If you want to drop it off for me to look at it, I'm sure I can fix it, it may just take me a minute to track it down. I KNOW I'll be cheaper than the dealer.
Jeff, (I think that's your name ) putting a four barrel on a stock two barrel engine won't give you more horsepower. It's just a component in a bigger system of parts that makes more horse power.
Picture an engine as a 3 foot length of hose. The faster you can get fuel (and air) through the hose, the more output your engine makes. If you change all the right components, you end up with a larger diameter hose. Put a four barrel on and don't change anything else, and you end up with something that looks like a funnel. Big on one end, but the out put is the same no matter how much gas you pour in the top.
I'm not telling you not to put the four barrel on, just don't expect a performance increase from it. Actually, if you stay out of the secondaries, you may get a little better fuel mileage. The primary side of the four barrel is smaller than your two barrel. If you stomp on it everywhere you go, your fuel mileage will suck. (There again, dumping gas into the top of the funnel. ...more in, same out)
problem with dropping it off is its the only car we got right now. and i know the dealership will charge a ton more but the woman is set on it if i can't figure out what the dang problem is
okkkkkaaaay then...now i's confused.....went to orielly's pulled codes got a generic one back think it was p0171 or p01721 about bank 1 being to lean...cleared the code and suddenly everything is back to working perfect...someone just shoot me now.

Are you kidding? You need a 6.0L (PSD) at the house. Or even better a 6.4L or 6.7L...the electronic wonders/nightmares of Dearborn. If you don't have a code reader like an AutoEnginuty you won't have a clue where to start when the blessed thing sets off the CEL. Don't get me wrong, they're a pain to work on...but the power they make is just OUTSTANDING. Now if we could only get the price of diesel back down where it should be.....

Alan, yes im jeff between the 4 barrel edelbrock intake , 4 barrel carb, probably head work, etc, ill probably throw in a new cam and lifters etc. so I hope to rectify that a little.
