Alan does the thought of at least "1/2 the money up front" ever cross your mind? I imagine in the business world you are in and these economic times, that's a rough question.
I just hate to see you getting treated this way by fellow vehicle enthusiasts. Why should someones elses money managing/having issues become yours?
You are doing this to make money, provide for your family and be able to buy things you need for your buisness, like a tire machine for yourself and your friends, right?
I remember just a little bit ago you were like "NO MORE free work"! And I do not blame you one bit. Cause you know THAT guy is the one that will have the money at the auction to buy your tire machine.
You can't be Mr nice guy all the time......good luck at the sale today.
Not much going on here. I think I have the 20's sold, but the fellow who wants them can't get the money until next weekend. I'm OK with that - I still have them here. If he bails on me, its his loss. I'm going to try to locate another wheel Monday so I can quit driving around with one of the 20's taking up the back.
Wanted to get a bit of wood cut this afternoon, but wound up working on the Rhino to get it running again. Stupid rodents... I'll give the wood another try tomorrow. My shoulder is still gimped up - better than it was but still gimpy. I can cut wood for about 2 hours now before I have to quit. Working on the drywall in the bathroom is still difficult but I'm making progress.
Rich, yes, the plan was no more free work, but sometimes I get blinded by the fact that people seem to be over anxious to get something, so I assume they'll follow through. I didn't really over extend myself on this one, I just would've liked to have had more play money. Oh well. Now I'll have more bill money.
The auction got stupid fast. It was mostly harbor freight type stuff, but it was all beat up and used and selling for more than you could buy it new! The wheel balancer was a small, older model and sold for $500. I found a newer, nicer one WITH weights for the same money on CL.
...................but the tire machine came home with me!
It's an older one, but it still works. This will probably keep me going for a year or so, then I'll buy a new one if I see the need for it.
I also found the fitting I was missing for the tunnel ram carbs......
Hope you all had a great holliday season. Im loving the not so cold winter. Got my Monte SS running and driving so my attention can now turn to big red. Im thinkin 4 barrel intake instead of the 2 I got on there now. With me already having a good 4 brl carb and I found a deal on a intake, I should be better off than rebuilding my 2 barrel carb. Look forward to getting back in here! Jeff
Well, what can I say? I WAS in a good mood. It just, ....makes me sick.
My hatred and animosity towards Extreme Makeover is complete. After dropping everything and closing down for a week, putting up with all of Christian's bull, and working like a dog for a week to help Art Feeds in Joplin, what do I get? NOTHING! Not only did they not show my work on the episode, but they never mentioned the RV had a TV in the back and went out of their way to NOT show it on air. I wasn't looking to get famous, but this is kind of a kick in the teeth.
Well we know you were there and seen the pics of your work, awesome btw. And good on you for going, and here is a "pat" on the back for you.
Good deal on the tire machine for you and your FTE cohorts right?
Well I am oficially qualified RL 1 D/N/NVG and can crew if on my own, so now it a push to get us over there. Our direct boss wants to give us a few days home so maybe mon-fri at the house? But still on the clock??
