oh yea alan..i went to get that manifold and that truck had the wrong head off already...... the passenger side was still complete.. but there is another dent with the 351-400 that has the passenger head off just connected at the pipe.. i seem to remember that the 400 and 460 share alot of parts but dont really know if the manifolds are the same.. do you know for sure if they are before i take one off of it... i hate work!!!!
I am not to sure about a 400 and 460 exhaust manifold being interchangeable? I know that a car 460 exhaust manifold will fit a truck, but the passenger manifold will hit the frame rail.
Most folks notch the frame (bad decision) when a car 460 is put in a truck. So you have to have a specific truck application manifold on the passenger side for sure.
The truck one is a little longer and closer to the eng block to clear the frame. I think I have a set or 2 Alan? If I get home this coming week can help you out if you need a set?
RC as far as off for today yes and hopefully all next week.......
Rich, if you could, man that would help me out. I want to get this thing done and gone.
I have to clean the shop and re-arrange some stuff today. I'll probably get on the Bravada engine bright and early tomorrow.
Oh and Rich, yes, if you need tires swapped around, it's here. That goes for anyone reading this that knows where I live. (all I ask is that you don't get nutty with it.)
hey alan..if rich has one off that would be great..i have the one on a 460 but would have to remove it from the truck... i thought it was already off but its not..sooo sounds like work.....
Whazzupp Y'all!!!
Alan I missed it someplace, but what are you looking for. I've ben through a few 400's with Ka'Bluey. Not sure what I have still. Let me know and I will look. I'm taking off the front trim piece on the 01 today and fixing a flashing light. Thr truck has an aftermarket alarm, with remote starter (realy like that thing) and when the alarm is set there is/was a flashing led light. The shop that I had install this thing didn't leave any wire to spare, so as soon as I pulled that trim off to get to the stereo. I also tore the two wires there. I like it, it acts like a deterant to show that "This thing is wired". I've had a vehicle stolen, one hit buy a stolen car, the driver bailed in a police chase, and that vehilce hit my old Cutlass I had then and knocked it in my front yard, was parked along the road. I've had another 79 F150 Custom that I bought almost new broken into. Stole everything that was in there... So I'll take anything that I can get. WHEW!
Alan let me know if that 429 exhaust manifold worked, I think that came out of a 69-70 Lincoln. It should be the same, just wonder about the outlet, if it is pointing the same.
Rich any plans for the week that you are home again???
Grill is going, a couple of beers gone down the neck already.
Lee it was good to see you and Clayton today.
I pulled a small chainsaw out of the shop that hasn't been used in at least a decade and cleaned it up so I could teach the kids to use one. I fully expected it to need tons of work, but the fool thing fired right up without much of a fuss. Now I just need a fuel filter and new chain and it will be time for them to help the old man out.
Going to try to take the van out and around the block a couple of times to keep it happy tomorrow. I really need some Ford time....
