New 71
Notice the behind the seat cross bar it taller than the front just a bit. That way I did not have to worry about hitting my head. Or it being inside a square.
Had to modify the bikini top to fit. I cut slits and added velcro closure.
See how both seats are pushed back a little bit.
Idea 1
I appreciate the links to the blk top (& it's details).
I see now how lill U changed the tire mount. @ 1st pic I said "WoW he's done some big changes" but see it more an adapt. It
will B awhile B4 U change tire sz again?
On CB I guy showed the removal of sides from a wagon top. Solid metal, full "bikini" roof - bolted to roll bars...
Like the back of 1/2 cab above he left a flange for pop-in/out canvas/windows.
BTW what do U use for roll bars? DOM? what is inside/outside dementions in inches - how thick is the tube wall?
Thnx, all ways lub dem pic !
Sorry not sure about the tube specs. I have a left over piece I can mic tomorrow.
but the DOM spec.ed stuff. From memory duz it look 3/8th? and 2 inch around?
I C it very seldom

from the outside, at distance. One guy just finished an open wheel (looks real Indy-like) to
join his 2 tube chassy stock cars. He's actually doin really well and expects to get picked up by the pro circut
to drive the national events). I see his from afar too.
Tnx,

BTW: the green looks like the 2nd gen bronk. Moss Bros were my fav off rd team. They had one for awhile (maroone?)
So when my buddy that helped me build it (the guy under the welding hood). I first off asked him to look at it, to make sure it is the correct material to use. He said it was good to go to use as roll cage material. He is also a Monster truck builder, owner, and driver. I trust Alan's experience and his welding capabilities.
Thanks for looking out for my well being. I am going to try and get you the specs anyway.
We have talked abt 'must B frame tied" . DOM - same.
I have several 'learnind disabilities'. One is w/math/numbers.
Wall thickness in fractional inches (or even decemals) can work for
me as can 'OD' diamiter inces. I am lookin for the smallest I can find for cage
& one bumper (needs to miss a sno plow yet still hold a pto operated post-hole
auger). I may use 1, 1.5 or 2 inch DOM. Back is step'n tow frm a toy p/u.
Ask ur bud abt the Moss Bros & desert truck running. Pretty cool story. I watch from
the sidelines as more work related, less rec oriented use (for now)~
Windshield frame is not structural.
I use to have a show bar like this.
I gladly took it out.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
yup, as I stated (#604 looks like they all do) we discussed manya X.
None of the pic seem to have this, or even a non-frame tied. I think, like
the 3 wheeler - they should B banned (loan either 1 & feel the pain of a bud
injured by false trust). Many guys use the "show bar" who do not go off rd. They C
what the windshield is, the B pillar, etc. & install, BUT this is hazardous as 1) false security,
2) deadly off rd. I have seen some of the 'upside downers' U publish here. I have seen them
w/'show bars' through the floor bds sticking up above. I am not happy w/all the bronks being sold
@ re-dick-U-loss prices'n no frame tied cage/bars.
One good thing about a show-bar or roll-bar: _ _ _ something overhead is better than nothing.
Nice work on your modified bronc top and rear window panel.
I spent 18-summers running the Rubicon jeep trail in a cj-7. Properly plated, any roll bar is better than none for sure.
I got the top already cut up, I am in the redesign dept to shorten it even more.
If ur own, U can pay the costs (of accidents or
roll overs) but like my 3wheeler example, lending it
w/o fair warning is not good. Y not do as we suggest.
It is just nother step or 2...
(adda lift, some bouncy tires...
Poser shot.
