Well the car show was fun, I just need to get busy with the 71's list of work. It has been 100* + here in the midwest and I am not in the mood to work that hard on it. So that is where I am at with that.
Side note, I did just go haul the son in laws 76 Bronco BACK from a guy that WAS suppose to do the front axle swap. 7 hour round trip drive...Looks like that project is so far off the back burner, it fell off the stove all together.

What front diff was going in the '76 Bronco? D44? D60? Something else?
Today I talked to my wrenching buddy (with all the ball joint experience). He is going to help me get all 4 ball joints replace/upgraded when I tear the front end apart to finally put in the upgraded axles shafts. I am about to put it in the heated garage and plan to wrench on it soon.
And also replace the leaking power brake booster, and then replace one leaking rear pass side wheel cylinder. I imagen that will turn in to replacing the other side and then doing a full rear brake job or rear disk upgrade.
With the rims and tires off I might as well take the old worn out boggers off, which means I have to break down the bead locks and then put the new boggers on. A solid plan is the 1st step to get away from "hope" or waiting on a round tuit.
Heck, I gots lots of round tuits spread all around the place. Just wait in’ for me to get round to ‘em.
Wherever I look, there’s another one!
When you do the ball joints, hopefully you don’t run afoul of the problem we’ve been seeing a lot of in recent years.
Have you seen the discussions about it over on the other forums?
Paul yes I have been staying up with current events on the ball joint quality, option and install discussions. I have 3 different sets to try. Moog, MevoTech and some Dana Spicers.
I have recleaned the shop and made more room to do cartwheels AND have the Bronco in there at the same time. I have a "plan" for a winter project, but going back to work part time/full time is really cutting into my Bronco plan.
And another project cut/trim/body saw that already modded regular length topper to fit better as a stretched half cab. I have a taller than normal back half of the roll cage. S I am going to have to trim trim some of that back roof line on the topper.
And some other plans to help with air flow in and header heat out. I already opened it up around the steering box.
There is more coming off under there.
seen those. Wanna go in the other direction to reduce the dirt in the bay. Havea '74+ snorkle behind battery to
core support hole for engine air, 'closed' pcv system, maxi-cool measures on coolant system, never over heats.
Hood hinge 'gasket', head lght bucket flaps and more will be used toward the same purpose.
Dirt dust no fuss, I could care less about dust. I do not go fast enough to make dust. LOL. But I do also go slow enough to not have a good air flow without opening up the inner fenderwells. I even gapped the front of the hood to help with air flow...HOT air OUT.
Notice in the 1st pic how the passenger side front tire is almost NOT in contact with the ground....she was a leaner that day.
Dropping in!
Hood gap with adjustable hood pins.
Well the shop is still in clean up and stay clean mode. The Bronco is on the battery tender and I am just waiting to get 3 or 4 days in a row to be able to tackle the list of projects.
1. Replace the failed/dead power brake booster. When idling and step on the brakes the idle increases, which ='s vacuum leak at the booster. Right? I checked all the other connections.
2. Replace the leaking passenger side rear brake wheel cylinder. I am sure that will turn in to a complete brake job..... on both sides.
3. Tear the front axle all the way down to replace all 4 ball joints. Then come reassembly time install the new upgraded front axle shafts. Long, short and u joints.
4. Am thinking about taking out my fenderwell tool boxes out, and pulling out the single back racer seat.
5. Trouble shoot the front park LED light that suddenly does not want to work.
6. Since they are already off, I am going to break down the beadlock rims and build them back up with the new 35x14.50x15 Boggers. That I have had in my tire shed WAY to long.
