Both end and top caps are on hand. Top cap is drilled and tapped. I got a tall version Kiser Riser (from a Classic Bronco forum member) to be able to 1. raise my trac bar axle attachment point at the axle and 2. have a place to attach one end of the ram.

Kiser Riser talk.

This might be the WH version, but I know the one I got it 1/2 thick and is going to be a great anchor point for my trac bar and ram.

Trac bar old bolt goes in the bottom hole. Bracket welded to axle. Trac bar now attaches in new raised top hole (red circle). Going to mount one end of ram in red square.

there's a work-a-round for everything nowa days

You know anyone who's done the ol "10 in10"?
In the '80s we'd just take the radius arms and measure back 10 inched, heat, bend 10* and re-assemble.
Bigger tires, further turning, a lill more on the articulation. It was a 'standard' just like the Tuffy console, or
BFG T/As ona st rig...

Rich did you take a picture of the top cap? I'd like to see what you came up with.

Just a plain ol top cap with a hole drilled in it and then tapped for threads. It can look like this. Not mine, but you get the point.

So you didn't weld any extra meat on it before tapping? It is cold here! Have a good work tour or whatever you call it.

No I did not, I talked to the machinist about welding a aluminium block on top of it to thicken is up. But he showed/convinced me where the top plate is thick enough to handle being drilled and tapped and no need for any extra material. So we shall see.....yes I like calling it a work tour.

Sounds good. Now you need one of those braces on the bottom of your pitman shaft.

I appreciate the lead on a cool part. I have one already (and was going to install it), but as much as it gives great support to the bottom end of the sector shaft, when added it does lower my approach angle by adding even more length to the sector shaft.

Once installed you have to add a heim fitting and support that properly.

Or go this route.

I just skid plated mine...and left the extension piece off.

I rather beat the heck out that piece of tread plate metal (easily replaced if need be) than to direct impact force to the sector shaft. It is not a perfect design by no means... but when is a project perfect?
