ex-ac-a-lee. Sorry, learning disability here, poor key bd skills, a late evening post. Some take personal offense & attack me. U have a good attitude ("crack me up").
On the ford i6 crowd we use "v" as valve, chebby guys use 'barrel' etc, etc. So, yes, we fill, mill, fill, mill or other process for a 'direct' mount. The poor lill intergal 'log' intake on 4 of these 6 motors is the only draw back on 4 of these tqie motors (144, 170, etc 240/300). For 30 yrs I wuz into the slant6, last 30 these ThriftPower or 'falcon' motors. (C our forum on them) and have put the 4 leter in my bronk along w/a 5 speed (might have done better w/the 4.9). RBS - the lowest profile, largest volume 1v (more tq than 2v) as I seek low rev tq on the loose stuff & gradients. 2100 is a fav of mine, like measuring each incremental change as a lill scientist experimenting w/my rig. The 2100 would B a step up in a distant future scenerio...Others use them in racing livery, us bronk guys go ina nother direction ~ 4.1 is 250 tq at 1500 rpm as I recall?
Got a awesome Craigslist deal on a like new Holley 670 Off Road Truck avenger 4bbl. It's on the Bronco already and working nicely, I have to do some quick fine tuning dial in and then we are getting ready to test it out this coming weekend. We are heading to SMORR (Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch) right after I chow down on a turkey leg thursday AM. The son in law is taking his newly acquired 76 Bronco also. Pics to follow...of course.
New carb tuned. Swapping on the like new 35x14.50x15 boggers tomorrow on ol red. And putting some new 38.5 Super Swampers on the other rig. Hope to have BOTH on the trailer for Thursday AM road trip.
Well the new carb is a winner, no issues on nose up, down or laying it on either side. I wheeled it hard Thursday afternoon, and late into the night. Friday same thing, then on a level 4 trail named (Bronco Buster) it popped the steering box front end cap seal. After a fight to get it down the rest of the trail and back to camp. I loaded it and took it home and swapped it out for the rail buggy Bronco to wheel friday night and all day Sat.
w/all the rigs 1/several can B test pigs for mods to the others.
U can have rigs at different stages of crawl - severe to easy on/off rd use.
Wish that chebby co (1st pics) hada hi steer for the bronk. I like their market -
DIY folks/shade tree mechanics like me...then I geta choice too (make it v buy it).
~have fun, B safe AND productive~
"...Will their's work..." wish it would - cheeper than Reid Racing's knucks.
I'd say "No". Can U tell?
Seems like all ur problems ever mount up to is "steering", no?
Is this new 1 the only w/ram steering?
I remember the wrk U did on the red rig. Y not 'get it' on 1 of these buggies & see if it will transfer to the red?
