I think that the big problem is that in order to do that you have to do it at the cost of producing fewer Super Duty trucks which Ford has NO problem selling.
This is true, that's a big part of the reason they stopped making them. They were selling Excursions, but not as well as they were for the 2000-2001 MY. So as a result it was dropped for the 2006 MY.
Had they waited for the 6.4, I have a feeling sales more than likely would have picked up. It would have been a beast...
Or an alignment, and they have to lookup in their computer
which locations have the "long rack" for the Ex & long bed pickups.
BTW, when filling up our Exs, you can take your Credit card inside
and have them "pre-auth" your card for $200 (or $150, etc.) and
then you can fill-up until you are done and then leave.
They will only charge your card for the amount you used.
This has saved me a ton of time lately.
