Sounds like alot of work and a beautiful truck when finished (grey interior of course).
Kinda random here, who painted the truck the burgundy color?
My dad did back in 1999 when it started having alot of primed spots like over the fenders, door buttoms etc. Plus typical Ford paint was pealing everywhere.
It's a Chrysler color direct from a dealer. It use to look great when it was nice and clean!
Yes he is the original owner. With every possible paper, receipt and everything when you buy a new vehicle.
Btw he uses my account onces in a while so it can be tricky some times to know witch one is talking. lol and i'm the one that doesn't like turbos surprisingly enough. Usually kids in there late teens like me, all they think about is turbos, nope not me
Back when my truck was grey, it looked exactlly like this (paint wise) lol and not only that, but it's the exact same color
Oh and snapon, I know what you mean about GM paint, our family DD is a 1999 Buick Century, white, and it's pealing in the most random places, large chunks at a time.
you should see the paint on new dodges... our masking tape if left on there to long will pull clear 95% of the time and on some occasions base and primer
Mid '80's Ford had a major issue with that silver grey metallic. My brother had an '84 Ranger that was the same colour, it started peeling within a couple years too. Shortly after that he was t-boned in a winter accident, so by the time it was done, the truck ended up getting a total repaint, fixing the silver grey issue.
My dad said when he bought it, the truck started pealing right away only a few months later! Ford re-painted it completelly on waranty, but come on! 5-6 months, brand new the truck with peaking paint....
The truck was made in March of 1990, and he bought it May 5th 1990.

Dave's IDI has to be the most beat-to-***** truck I have ever seen! I can't believe the thing actually runs in the condition it is in. It's basically a drive train with rust on top!
And the funny part, it still runs and drives perfectlly fine! Abit hard to start, but onces started, runs great! Drives nice and straight, doesn't pull on either side, even brakes nice and straight!
heres my gauge cluster that will be going in. its just sitting in there im not that close yet!
That's a bricknose ('87-'91) dash - you converting your '80-'86 to that style? Cool! Oh, and that's one mighty-fine looking truck you got there, nevermind the wheels, lol.
