time to invest in some bushwacker fender flares bud. cut that mess out, put some rust converter and the standard 1.5" flares will cover that whole area.
that bed was pulled and scrapped instantly after purchase.
stock bed in perfect condition would have been tossed anyway.
this is how i fixed that old rusty bed "problem". https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...-dump-bed.html
i think the ol' gal looks so different now,you didn't recognize whose truck that was.
so, heres the newest picture i have. ive thrown on 97 rear doors, doing some metal work to the 97 front doors then those are going on too and i'll throw up new pics.
Holy crap. Either your name is Andre or you need a ladder to check the oil!
This thread can't die!! After re-reading, i sure do like F250's double mirrors LOL!
No newbie here, but here's the rig's current status...nothing is permanent...everything is temporary until I figure out the best setup.
Got some funny looks on the way to the scrap yard that day...all that orange steel is overhang!
And that's my favorite picture, actually is my desktop background too!
hey you ever have a hard time loading your zero's onto your bed, I wont have a trailer to borrow this season and was thinking about doing what you did just loading em up on the flatbed, I have a 1992 48" ferris
This is more like a update than a showing off post but here are a few pics starting last fall and ending up now. I still gotta build me a proper air intake.
Painted the frame and rear axle and complete underbody coating.
In my garage getting turbo'd the the turbo complete with pillar gauges and before and after pics.
Thanks man, I got a whole list of stuff to do once the 4 ft of snow to my garage melts. Gotta paint the gauge pod, get a new pyro gauge, coolant flush, change the IP and time engine, change GP's, fix air intrusion, fix oil leak, new cdr etc. - more and more fun....
Don't worry, i've towed loads with my truck, more than most people would even try with a brand new Diesel! Ofcourse I was unbelievably illegal, but trip was only couple hundred miles on back roads...ish.
I'd have to check in my log books, but if I remember correctly was around ~23k pounds total truck+trailer. Sure I could gotten out of the truck and walk faster going up hills, but i'm use to it, doesn't bother me one bit!
Mind you this was almost 10 years ago, back when my truck was in shape.... back when I used it as a DD. Ever since we moved into the city, it's been sitting it's life away.
Took ~10 years to do 300k miles country living, and we been in the city for just over 10 years, took another 10 years of city living to do ~77k miles. And it's ever since I stoped using it regularly that it's been leaking oil from every seal there is.... rusting in pieces, water comming in from every seem in the cab, etc. etc.
Poor thing! Sure am gonna be happy onces shes restore to it original glory!
Yup sitting kills ford trucks! Same thing happened with the old 75... once it got parked for almost 10 years it started rotting and I had tons of work to fix it.
