Don't worry john, I ain't hating on ya, just busting your chops on the turbo. Guaranteed those hills weren't steep though, towing 16K with any n/a IDI up a serious hill isn't gonna do it.
Ah hell no, they were little country road hills. I wouldn't have tryed this on a major highway with big hills. lol
This summer should be started, I have to strip down my '88 F150 parts truck for the cab, it needs corners to be perfect. And some repairs where the floor meets the backwall of the cab inbetween the frame rails. That's not gonna be an easy repair but anyways.
I just recentlly bought my self on sell (150$) a 2 ton engine crane cherry picker as I call it.
I have to remove the engine off the frame, open it up, inspect, re-seal etc.
Sand blast and re-paint all the body and panels original Ford color (charcoal grey) witch was the orignal color of this truck, with matching grey interior, just for you snapon
Frame, axles, I also gotta venture in my ZF, defenentlly needs a reverse gear.
Hardest part will be deciding what to use to coat everything with to prevent rust, bed liner stuff, POR15, etc. etc.
Have to completelly rebuilt the front axle (Dana 44HD)
Every possible steel line there is (brake lines, fuel lines etc.) brakes, front end, radiator, rad support, 1 rear tank, still need a front bumper, but i think I'll order on from LMC.

On my 54 I'm going to use POR-15 with a top coat of the their 2 part Hardnose black paint on my chassis and all drivetrain parts( except engine and trans they are getting POR-15 engine enamel ) .
All my body panels are going to get a coat of POR-15 inside and out. The body itself will then get a coat of Ford blue paint. The underside is all going to get a few coats of Durabak roll on bedliner. The whole inside of the cab is also getting the bedliner except the dash.
hey you ever have a hard time loading your zero's onto your bed, I wont have a trailer to borrow this season and was thinking about doing what you did just loading em up on the flatbed, I have a 1992 48" ferris
Piece o' cake! REALLY nice getting about 1/2 way up the ramp and shut the engine off while in gear (my 80's Bobcat's don't have a parking brake). When the engine fully dies, it's 3/4 of the way up the ramp. Perfect height for chanigng the blades! Great access from underneath.
Here's mine. The truck sat behind my neighbor's house for 8 years and when he passed his wife gave it to me. I just rebuilt the tranny and the brakes and it now runs like new.
Will get a better pic when the truck comes back from inspection. Couldn't get it lately with all of this snow we've been getting.
Thing I wanna do, I wanna sand blast everything, prime, then Line X everywhere underneath, cab floor, inside the fenders etc. and re-prime and paint Grey over the Line X.
