Looks pretty good on there, but You have to do something about thay 55 gallon drum you have for a muffler now. lol
What kind of weight do you typically haul seems like if you load the back of the bed it may get the front end light.
thanks.
oh i know it.aint that crazy lol.i haven't touched the exhaust yet.its stock/previous owner stuff still.this will change as well.
I'l be hauling some serious loads.basically enclosing the big rack i have,to make it a chipper box.
i'l be adding 4 or 5 overloads.(im going to try to stay with the 5 mains at first to keep my ride.but im realistic, and i know she may want at least 2 more mains.i just really hope not.)
not to worry tho,the extra bed size will only be used when im hauling bulky brush/old rotted wood-anything that can't get chipped (light/bulky debris.)this is the only reason for the extra size bed.otherwise it will be loaded generally just all up toward the front/middle with wood chips or firewood.
It should work great for your use then.
Just the different weight of the empty bed will probably keep your ride stock with a couple extra leaves.
oh this true! man,i didn't even think about that for some reason.
though, the other reason is to keep it as low as possible.
sometimes the wood even cut up smaller, gets heavy to lift at the end of the day.
I'm already on the hunt for the lowest load range E 16's i can get.-and with the 3:55's to start,it will give me a nice working gear to boot.
(if i can find 28" tall tires,i think i worked it out to somewhere near 3: 90.1 and in OD close to here peak torque band of 1400.somewhere around 1600 rpm at 50.i can't recall now.i'l have to check it again.but works out good.)

You do have to watch how heavy you load behind the rear axle.
With a 9 foot bed, the rear axle is almost centered in the bed.
yeah, the chipper shoots way up over the truck if i wanted it too.
so she should fill the front, and slowly slide down toward the middle nicely.

im getting exited now,cus im almost ready for the road!
it's lifted up,and i found a great place for the pump.so now just need to run a cable off a breaker from the drivers side battery.fill her up with dextron and she how she does.
Here ya go. Not the best shot, but the only one I got. She's making sure I don't screw anything up when I'm lifting that fuel tank out her cousin, the D4.
It looks like most of these are working rigs. Anyone use them just for play? I am looking for a nice toy as a DD. I am retired and don't need to plow or haul wood anymore lol.
This one is retired and now just a dd and or toy.
It looks different now, I have added nerf bars moose lights and a nice bug shield.
Yesterday I aquired all the lariat interior interior from a 88, so now I will be changing the dash and door panels. One never gets through with a toy, a work rig is easier lol.

One thing i've notice is here on FTE, most of us are all of bunch of hard workin' guys with old beater work trucks. And over at OilBurners, most of them are hot shots with there nice shinny rigs lol
