Well we can't let the thread disappear with the rolled one being the last one!
The cab is currently hanging from the rafters in the barn. The frame looks dirty because well it is. Long gravel farm driveway and the frame was outside next to the driveway for about a month and a half.
LOL I know.. I feel like a hack putting it in like that.
I HAD it cleaned, but when I flipped it upside down on the engine stand to pull the pan to change the filter/inspect it a bunch of oil ran out the breather cap..
I'll probably roll it outside and re-wash it when I have The trans lines installed and sealed up lol
Yea, he's putting a D60 under it with SRW hubs, If I ever ship em to him ...
We swapped hubs, he shipped first, I have both currently ... how gullible can one be!
hehehe ... Sorry swooshcmk, I just like to tease you, you know I'll ship the next business day after you indicate you are ready (if not before) REGARDLESS of any hoops I might have to jump through!
I may not be a lot of things, but I am honorable and I stick to deals like a glue!
Heck, I may personally drive them out there, I hope to be heading across country within the next couple months to find a F350 Crew out of the snow belt.
Yeah original plan was to start with my 4x4 chassis but the 2wd chassis was just in much better shape all around - even had a fair amount of factory paint on it yet! So I decided to stick with the 2wd frame and do the 4wd swap. So I picked up a D60 with springs and rear hangars from the junkyard and swapped hubs with Festus. Considering doing a front shackle reversal when I install it as it seems those who have done it are happy with it.
NP205 - lets just say I've broken enough aluminum cased ones
Festus - if you're headed this way you might as well go at the end of July and catch the Oshkosh EAA Airventure show! Though that tends to get $$$ in my experience. You'll leave planning to get a truck and come back with something else lol
Actually, I'll be flying out, driving back and hopefully I'll already be pulling something unknown behind an unknown truck and I think most (if not all) states frown on triples behind a F350 ...
Boy would I be getting looks though, F350 Diesel Crew pulling a F350 ???? with a 5th wheel trailer with an airplane on it!
Wonder how far I would get before they found a padded cell for me!
Actually, Thats when I hope to be headed back this way ... I want out be in Norcal July 25th, pops b-day, I haven't seen him in nearly 20 years.
Land in Frisco, Bart to Antioch for wheels then drive to Potter Valley on the 25th and where ever between there and here I find a RUST FREE 83-86 Diesel Crew preferably Dually but not required (I have all the Dually parts) then to wherever I find a second one on the journey back this way.
Don't think every one wants to read this so take further inquires to messaging.
