Gas vs PSD

That goes way beyond the fun of calling each other "diesel stinker" or "gas fumes inhaler"
2. I blew my heads twice with the stock tune. Both times towing the second time it had ARP studs in.
3. IH gave ford the SPEC to run the engine at. Wait, I think you made my point for me. To quote you "The warranty they wouldn't cover was due to the fact that Fords tuning was hotter than internationals". So you are saying the tune from Ford is TOO hot. Thank you for that one.
IH signed off on the HP and TQ numbers so?
4. Warranty Claims. I read that report and it is plain BULL S##T. If you know how to play with numbers you can make them show what you want. People in the business will tell you the same thing. REALLY talk to people, you know the once that use a truck to tow with and repair it. What about the class action law suite filed against ford, that ford lost on dealing with this engine.
5. Bullet Proof EGR cooler.
A. Yes it is legal, But it does not cool the exhaust as well as the stock EGR cooler. Which leads to other problems.
B. This is Not a stock part. We where talking about stock configuration.
6. I would love to talk to a person with 500 K on the motor and zero problems. What are they doing that no one else is doing????
7. I did not mention the value problems but they exist for people running too hot and value guild problems for some others.
8. Ford had to turn off the pilot injection on this motor to reduce problems. Many tuners turn this back on.
9. FCIM the location is just stupid, If fails because of heat saturation. I don't blame the electronics on this one, but who selected location.
10. My v10 has not been back to the shop for any issuse. It simply costs me less per year then the diesel.
11. My 6.0 did get better millage. Diesel fuel hold 30 percent more energy then 87 oct gas. We where talking about stock engine design, not MPG. You win on MPG!
12. I sorry I can't let someone say the 6.0 is great engine. I will not every recommend a 6.0 to anyone and I will go out of my way to inform them.
To summarize. Ford knew they had a problem. Fleet managers know the 6.0 has problems. You suggest the stock design is good then you talk about modification from the stock design. Once you change the engine from the stock design you no longer have the same engine.
What is wrong w/ the heads? It HPOP was fixed. It was redesigned. What engine to date has less warranty claims than another? 06-07 6.0l. Fords dispute with intention was because international dropped warranty on the engines. Do you know why? The warranty they wouldn't cover was due to the fact that Fords tuning was hotter than internationals. Or something like that. Look how many 6.0l that has made it to 300k- 500k miles w/ out being repaired after 100k that was repaired before it went out of warranty. You can repair the egr cooler legally and it stay fixed. Rcd and bullet proof just to name 2. I'm glad you like your v10. Hehe I do too. But your V is no more reliable than 6.0l.
I never said the 7.3 wasn't a good engine. I've never owned or driven one. I don't know if I'd like it or not. What's the point. Who said the 7.3 was a bad engine?
You every time someone says that the 6.0 is junk and can't be fixed or gets sucky milage. Will leave you on the side of the ride every 30k miles and will get out pulled by a 5.4 or 6.8l you dang right I'm going to step in. Everytime sometime tells me I'm wrong about what I pay to maintain my truck I'm going to speak up as well. <!-- / message -->

How is the bullet proof not stock configurtion? I looked into it and it sured seemed to be to oem specs. Looks like used different materials and better weld designs but, but works as was designed. Still legal. And its fixed.
Sorry that your experence was so bad. But your one in a whole bunch of an experence that's now history and will remain there. Yes my 6.0l is great. I'll put herbright w/ any yall at any task and your going to catch hell winding her. She loves to work. Check this out. She don't cost me nothing a year. We go dutch. She pays her own way.
So you thinking about getting a 6.2l SD? My wife really enjoys hers and the truck is great. I think it maintains it's powerband alittle better than the 6.8l. My buddy kevin also seems to think so. We let him drive it around and he sees a difference. Kinda looking forward to this weekend we're going to go me some metal for my new barn and he's going do the driving to see what he thinks. Things go good he'll be in his own Monday. Well he'll order it. They didn't have one today on the lot w/ 4:30 gears. I think he'll impressed.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I keep my opinion that V10 owners post here seeking excuse for their poor decision. Fact that they have to make up the numbers to even have the excuses speaks for itself.
You might think us v10 owners have made a bad decision now, but when that diesel breaks and then inturn breaks your bank when youre out of warranty, you'll be met with a hefty decision. Repair the pile for $$$$$ or rid yourself of it and come out barely afloat. I know three psd owners in that exact situation right now. Not only are parts expensive, the labor is crazy too if you don't fix it yourself as most won't.
Funny part about this post is that as I'm sitting here at this campground typing on my iPad, there is a psd owner 1 row down from me trying to figure out why his 06 6.0 truck is blowing white smoke and cant tow his 37'+ trailer without in his own words "chugging" ( yes, us v10 owners will lend a hand to a psd owner in need). I'm 100% sure he has a blown head gasket but he's convinced that it's bad fuel.......
I think to myself that I'm glad that my 12 year old truck (produced 08/98) with 188,700 miles has never caused my famiy to lose a single bit of vacation due to mechanical failures that can plague a trip. Actually it's never failed me at all, never! I put gas and oil in it and it returns with getting me, my junk and my family here there and everywhere. I actually just upgraded the gearing from 3.73 to 4.88 to ensure that my trans wont have a problem in the future when I get that 38' fifth wheel next year. What happened after the install? I got 50% better mpg unloaded. That cost me $630. Wow, I'm still way under the $6k initial cost of a diesel..... And getting comparable mileage to some now. 13 mpg unloaded and looking like 8.8 with a 10k TT right now. That alone rivals 6.4 mpg and with .30-.80 less per gallon fuel cost, why wouldnt anyone make the decision to go to gas? Appropriately geared, a v10 will prove to be quite the competitor to the diesel engined light truck.

When you say "make numbers up", that means lying. I never made any numbers up.
Talk to someone who has had their Hydro-Boost fail. Or better yet, try to steer with your foot on the brake
Diesel has a hydro booster and gassers have a vacuum booster. When I was flushing my power steering/booster fluid I thought all the trucks had the hydro booster.
I see a lot of this in this thread. Lots of people just can't believe it, so they automatically assume the person has done the math or something else wrong.
