Wow! I love airstreams and am ready for a travel trailer... They are much more expensive than the others, but looks, build quality, and longevity make them a deal i think.
Thing about Airstreams is that they depreciate very slowly, are much more aeronynamic, and are the "Lincoln" of campers. If you are handy, you can pick up an older one and refurbish like a number of folks have done. I am not that handy so we looked for a used AS that had a slide out (SO); AS made slide outs from 2001-2009 and then quit with the SO's. We found our 2002 30' Classic in Boise close to where we live. It was basically brand new, even the shower hadn't been used. We paid used about what a new white plastic box camper would cost. Having gone from a hugh 5th wheel to this 30', it was a challange to get the wife to "pare down" a bit. The difference in quality on the AS is astounding, inside and out. They also tow like a dream, just get an Equilizer Hitch.
that's DEFINITELY one of the most ridiculous things i've ever seen... but, as a professional fire fighter, i take comfort in knowing that MORONS like this, provide my brothers and sisters like myself with job security
You guys are simplifying the towing issues.
The pictured Grand Marquis is close to 5000 lb, the boat and the trailer is probably the same, maybe just slightly more. That is not bad ratio. Boats generally tow much better than TT the same weight and have lower tongue weight.
I have seen full sizes pickup overturned by travel trailer on perfectly straight freeway several times. Single wheel pickups with long rear overhang and soft suspension that will move the bed sideways couple of inches with hand push are lousy tow vehicles. Any side wind makes the set unstable, not paying attention to driving, the trailer starts fishtailing and the pickup is on its roof with jackknifed trailer on the top.
My wife took this picture by my mom's house in Port Townsend, WA last summer. Yes, that is a big boat being towed by a car.
Thats not scary at all as long as he has a WD hitch.
Its got a real frame and 6,000 lb hitchs are available for them.
You can get them with the towing package which comes with police springs and sway bars along with 3.55 limited slip gears.
Its got the same 2V 4.6 and 4 speed auto as the older F150s.
Its much more capable then a whole list of small trucks that are rated to tow that much weight.

Are you sure it has the same tranny? In that I had a Chevy half ton with the 5.3 and a tow rating of 8,000 pounds or whatever. But my wife's Impala SS with the same 5.3 (though tuned differently with more HP and less torque) has a tow rating 1,000 pounds or whatever.
Either way, I would never tow with a car and yeah not as bad as the other pic since boats aren't as bad.

My compact Mercedes is rated for 1500 lb trailer and I am using it for it. The 4000lb Mercedes wagons are rated as top tow vehicles for up to 5000lb travel trailers in Europe.
Cars do have way better traction than comparable pickup. I had several pulling issues with my F450 while lack of load on the bed and heavy trailer made me spinning wheels pumped to 90 psi for nothing.
Such a thing never happens with wheels pumped to 30 psi in my sedan.
