...It doesn't matter how much of a piece of crap something is, if Ford (or any other company) can sell them and make money on them they will continue to do so.
I think that is the most accurate statement I have ever heard or seen about a company.
You do realize an Oasis does not necessarily show all work performed? Any work done by a private shop or an individual may/will not show up. After the warrenty is expired there is little to no incentive to take the truck back to the dealer for service.

Yea I realize over 100k work might not show up. The dealership is the only place that works on diesels in our area. The closest other shop is 30 miles. On top of that the dealership has done and printed us a copy of records that up to last month they have done all maintance on all 3 trucks. There's no work been done to either of the 3 engines at the dealership. In sept. The oil, transmission fluid, fuelfilters, and front and rearend fluids where changed. This truck had its oilchanged every 5k, fuelfilters 10k, trans 30k, and air 50k. The front and rear ends where done yearly in april. Don't know what that was about. I've noticed that most 6.0 problems showed them self in 50k.
Ford couldn't afford to keep selling a product when their buying back and working on 80% of its units. The company would be forced to drop the line.
wow I have never seen anyone so set on trying to convince anyone how all the 6.0's are gonna blow up... Guess what, the majority of the all the troubled 6.0s are either fixed or were bought back. and any truck with a 6.0 after mid 2005 probably had no problems the kinks were worked out by then.
you sound like the damn chevy guys trying to knock on the 6.0 for two and a half years of some bad engines. They seem to forget the 30 years of ****ty chevy diesels.

Do a good job and maybe the word will get out to handful of people. Do a lousy job and the word will get out to hundreds of people. That's only human nature or maybe just the nature of the American consumer, not sure about that yet.
Edit: Oops - backing away right now!

What's crazy is most of the people that is bashing the 6.0 has never owned one. For the most part tbe people that had trouble loved the engine untell whatever happened. You have some that had problem w/ tje dealer getting it fixed which just made things worst. There's a lot of people that ditched their early 6.0s fof post 05s and love em. You don't really hear of anybody complaining about them anymore. I have an 04 and its had problems. I still love it. Its a work hog. It earns its keep around here. There's lots of stories just like mine going around.

It sounds like the company took care of those trucks.

I wasn't attempting to bash the 6.0, simply state my belief that the average 6.0L won't see 300,000 miles without engine work.
I admit, all I've ever owned was chevy's, so I bashed fords all the time. I just traded a 09 z71 silverado for an F-350 superduty crewcab V-10. All I can say is WOW!!! I love my v10 superduty. I have a 30 ft travel trailer ( 8000 lbs ) and I could'nt hardly pull it with the 1500 Z71. I was going to get a silverado HD 6.0, but I spotted the F350 and decided to take it for a test drive.....I made the right choice. When it comes to the heavier pulling trucks, Ford just offers a better truck!

WTF....you're comparing an F350 with a Chevy 1/2 ton. No s**t it's in a different league. Pass the bong, you've had enough.
You know absolutely nothing. That's why you continue to try and verbally berate everyone who disagrees with you. That's why your posts get reported so frequently. One of these days, you'll get banned.
I'm sorry you feel that way, I really enjoy reading your well thought out and highly informative posts. They are always based on facts, not ego. You also do not possess the little-man syndrome so many diesel owners seem to have these days. It's obvious you are truly a very experienced and highly educated man and I feel lucky to have the opportunity to learn from someone who has owned their truck for as long as you have and piled up the miles as you so obviously have. Hope we can get over this rough spot in our relationship so I may further learn from the master. Hahahahahhaahahahaha...

Thank you. I retired from the Army in 2005 and have a BS (Applied Science) in Computer Science and an Associated Arts Degree (AA) in Mechanical Engineering. I currently own my own business (doesn't mean I will next month with this economy) and work 16hrs a day, 6 days a week. Of course, I don't get overtime as I'm the owner.
Regardless, I knew when I bought this truck it was going to be for many miles. I took all of the mpg's, cost of oil changes, fuel filter changes, etc and determined it would in fact, be cheaper than a gasser if taken care of correctly, and with the miles I put on the truck.
If I were slogging through the forest, determining which tree would be worth cutting down to make toothpicks, mulch, or boards, I'm sure a stock V10 would suit me better. However, slapping a turbo back by the rear license plate of said V10 would do nothing for me except increase fuel costs, oil change frequency, and many other things based on my admittedly limited knowledge of the 6.8.
However, I have never taken you to task for any of your out-of-the-blue attacks on anybody but myself. As a matter of fact, anything I've ever wrote regarding you, has been in rebuttal of some typographical diatribe you've managed to contribute to this forum without fear of any moderator sanctioning you. As a matter of fact, I haven't seen you do or type anything other than (paraphrasing) "diesels suck and gassers are the best."
Reading back, do you even OWN a V10, or is the one you love, merely a work truck, that your employer pays for? This last question merits a response since others have repeatedly derided and discounted the V10's I drove from time to time in the form of GSA trucks the Army leased.
Again, thank you for the heartfelt apology. Humility is a worthwhile trait, and a great leadership principle to have.
