Oh about him picking on me, well I was the only person I bet in this thread that he quoted about stop the name calling and cussing.
I am not sure on the year models. We have a lot of company trucks that do work for us on our job sites and there are several 6.0's and 6.4's. I chat with the guys and ask what kinds of problems they have had, what kind of mpg's they get, how they like them, etc.

I got called out in the thread too when I was arguing with a guy. After I got the public reprimand and my infraction they went back and deleted the posts where me and the other guy were arguing and where we were told to act like adults and keep it on topic.

What exactly is it that you needed it to do? From what I remember, you said you only towed about 1,000 miles per year. What size trailer, how long of a trip, what kind of terrain, etc?

Then go there. This is not an ADULT site per-se, our policy for moderating is if our kids can read it, it's OK.

As for "cussing", being an adult I don't cuss at other adults, nor insult them in general conversation. Nor do I know any other adults that do.

Go to Pirate 4x4, or whereever you are talking about and "cuss" all you want.

You know there is alot worst stuff our kids can see on the computer besides cuss words. Besides whenever you cuss on this site it only comes up with astrikes. So they can't see what anyone has typed. And I'm not talking about cussing someone out or anything. Just saying when you are talking to your friends just in general conversation you are telling me that no one cusses or anything. When they complain about something or they think they got screwed. They don't cuss at all?

The market would be trucks that aren't used on the roads often. For instance say a truck that is used inside, where noise and exhaust are issues. Or say a tow yard, where the truck might be started 50 times and only driven a total of 2-3 miles a day. In these cases a gasser would be a better option. Since Ford had the gas engine made already, and no competition, why not?
The market is quite large, actually, they seem to be targeting municipalities where it's cost-effective and desirable to have a truck that runs on gasoline and propane, or gasoline and natural gas. As I said previously, my '01 was available with the "bi-fuel" option of running either gas/propane or gas/CNG.

In some places, it might be nice/necessary to have a large truck that runs either fuel, doesn't make a lot of NOISE, or ODOR, and is somewhat more environmentally friendly. I know here on Long Island a lot of townships/villages/whatever are looking into trucks like this. It's a booming business.

The V10 has already been produced as bi-fuel, AND Ford has a prototype that runs on hydrogen with a blower. Ford Hydrogen V10

There's a lot more choices of what fuel to run with the V10 than with a diesel. It's either bio-diesel, pure diesel or reclaimed oil turned into diesel.

Matter of fact, the local sanitation trucks here in Lindenhurst are NOT diesel. They certainly don't SOUND like diesel, and the certainly don't SMELL like diesel. They are either gasoline or bi-fuel. But forget that, in reality, it takes a diesel to pull 10 tons of garbage to the land-fill, right?

And they see none of it at FTE.

Case closed, if you need to discuss this further with someone (and get no where) you can take it up with me by PM or a SuperMod or admin.

You have the freedom to say whatever you want, as long as it's respectful to other members and follows the guidelines. Maybe you should reread them:

Ford Truck Enthusiasts - Discussion Forum Guidelines

Again, LAST TIME, no more discussion of this, see paragraph 9 of the guidelines.

Back to V10 vs. PSD.

This is a privately owned site, freedom of speech does not apply. As far as this place being a dictator ship? Out of all the forums I'm on (a computer forum, several car/truck forums and a couple of tractor/lawn equipment forums) they are far more harsh. On any of these other sites you would have been banned from the moment you said "********". Most of those sites wouldn't even tolerate debating the rules that you agreed to with a moderator!

Throwing insults around at other people serves no purpose other then to incite a negative response - aka trolling.

Lets lighten the mood for a minute!
V-10 vs PSD?
460 wins!..............
I can tow anything you guys can, a little slower, more fuel, but I still get there!
I can fix anything on a 460 for relatively dirt cheap, on my own without need of dealership service.
Summit can help me build a BEAST of a 460.
At the end of the day, I am not in hock for a $55,000 truck!

But I still miss that new truck smell!

And you don't need to remove the cab to work on it, buy special coolant and fuel additives, drain the water from the separator and somehow dispose of it legally, strap a CARB and a mechanical fuel pump on it, god-forbid put POINTS in it, and have an almost completely MECHANICAL engine that doesn't need what amounts to 100+ amps to run, two batteries just to start it, etc. etc.

Darn I miss my 390 FE.

C'mon Art...I know you secretly want an oil burner. This has all been an elaborate ruse, hasn't it? Sell that '01 and come on over to the other side. You'll curse yourself for waiting so long
