I think that we should just open the lonjevity test up to more 7.3l's and forget the 6.0l's to fill the required amount. What do the current participants think? Still need 3 more V10 trucks.
Josh, Bill is right. The dealer should have fixed the problem whether the warranty is up or not. On going problem.
I just got tired of fooling with it/them. They would replace the condensor and then 2-3k miles later it would get a leak in it and stop working again. I figure it's easier to just roll down a window than to wait on them to get it right. The part is only about $150, so I may get around to fixing it myself.

It's your test. Whatever you want to do, or however you want to compare them, I am up for it. I am pretty sure Tom would be up for it if you wanted to allow 6.4's to be in it too. I thought for sure we would have more v10 guys begging to get in since they have been saying how much less it costs to own one than a 7.3. Same for the 6.0 guys. All we have heard is how it is more reliable than the 7.3 and that it has an unfair reputation. Now that we have a test to compare them, they are nowhere to be found (if asking nicely won't get them to join, maybe some smack talk will lol)
Edit-If you can't get enough v10's to join, I don't mind putting my 5.4 on the gasser side of the test as well.

I think the test sounds interesting but it is way to much work. When my tank is empty, I fill it. When I need an oil change, I change it. The last thing I want to do is post every transaction dealing with my truck like it's a high school economics assignment, especially since I don't have anything to prove. That doesn't mean that y'all can't do it but you shouldn't be surprised that other dudes don't share your enthusiasm.

I get paid by the mile when I drive my truck for work, so I already keep a logbook on how much it costs me to drive it. So it's no big deal for me to snap a picture or scan a receipt. The test wasn't my idea, but I am more than happy to join in. If someone is going to tell me that their truck is better than mine because my maintenance costs are higher than theirs, then by all means post some numbers and prove it. None of the people using that argument have been quick to join in though. I don't have anything to prove either and I am not saying my truck is better than theirs. To each their own, as long as it's a Ford . But, I will back up anything I say about mine and have no problem posting pics to verify it either.
Ditto on that. Also, if you find a $250, low-miles T5 please PM me. All the sources near me are in the $450-to-gawd-only-knows-what range, and I just feel that's way too much for a used, 5.0 T5. I'd gladly pay shipping as well. Now back to the show...

Will do. I am always on the look out for Mustang parts, so I will let you know if I come across something. We have the $450 and above ones here too, but those are usually Mustang guys that think everything on their car is made from solid gold. I just keep looking until I find someone who just wants to get rid of it. Not too long ago I got a 1991 Mustang GT with under 100k miles for $500. It was a theft recovery car that had the rear bumper cover, hood and upper intake stolen. They couldn't get a title for it, so they sold it just to get rid of it. It took me less than a week to get the title lol. I also bought a 1991 LX with 125k miles for $300 that was a drug car that the guy didn't pay his wrecker bill on. Both of them are automatics, which is why I bought those two t5's to rebuild. If I didn't already have cars for them to go in I would offer you one of them.
