That is a good point. I know it's way off topic now, but for reference, I had the front shaft made by Tom Wood's Custom Driveshafts in Ogden Utah:

http://www.4xshaft.com/index.html

I took the measurements, and he made the shaft, spin-balanced it, and shipped it to me. It fit perfectly. With the old shaft, which was a CV on one end and a u-joint on the other (bad combination!), the truck shook itself to death at any speed over about 15 mph in 4wd. With the new shaft, I could cruise 60 in on wet roads, and slip it in and out of 4wd with no noticable change in vibration. I couldn't have been happier.

I might be doing that with my rear driveshaft. I've had a take-off vibration since the truck was brand-new, and need to put in a new rear u-joint again for the second time. For whatever reason, Ford didn't setup the u-joint angles correctly on the short-bed supercabs for 2001, and there was that vibration. Instead of messing around, I might just put some 4" F350 blocks in the back for an extra 2" of lift (really like 1.5") and go with a double-cv-joint driveshaft instead of trying to get the angles correct.

This is all your fault Bill I come here to see why my V10 is the best kept secret. Come to find out a Cummins in a Ford Truck is the best kept secret. I might have to get a Y pipe & go dual 5" tho...

Bill can out pull anyone over 90MPH with a 12K load on his bumper

I would not go that far, Ford just made a bad decision on Navi & not Cummins. The 7.3 is a huge block better suited for later models.
This all fell together last week, Still can't believe it.

My Shaft is a Woodie too. Not much better than Toms, Now my 76 Bronco Sport goes 75mph smooth as silk. Now can I out pull Bill????

Correct me if I'm wrong Bill, but there is no stock Ford with a Cummins and 5" stacks. In fact, a truck like that isn't even mildly modded. I'd have to put it in the heavily modded category.

Bill, we need to put your nuclear powered V10 to the test. Eventually, we'll find a vehicle that has a shot at out pulling your van.

I guess we'll start with something simple, like this:

http://priuschat.com/forums/attachme...le_trailer.jpg

I think the Prius would jump out to a lead, but you'd catch him in the end, but what about this one?

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i4...wister5072.jpg

It doesn't have a chance since it has a psd and we all know that your V10 can out pull any psd so we'll have to move on.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...00ExpRF018.jpg

This F-650 doesn't have the right gears to hang with Bill, plus he doesn't get very good gas mileage.

http://bikehugger.com/images/blog/green_support.jpg

On second thought, I don't think this set up would work with only 24 gears. He's gonna start running an extreme performance tune but he needs to replace his femur studs first so he doesn't blow a hamstring gasket.

http://envirofuel.files.wordpress.co...worth-t908.jpg

This guy has a lot of drag. I doubt he'd compete with Bill because Bill can go 95+. Not to mention the fact that Bill has 4 more cylinders. I guess we'll have to go to the big rigs now.

https://imgpg.jobing.com/company/ima...earthmover.JPG

This one has a lot of capacity but it is so slow that Bill can shovel some dirt in his van and move it so fast and so often that at the end of the day, Bill hauled 2 pounds more. Of course, the dude tried to keep up but that attempt came to a tragic end. What good is having all that capacity of you can't control it. Bill can control a 12k bumper pull trailer at 90 mph in a 50 mph cross wind on the ice. I'd like to see Tony Stewart do driving like that!

http://media.therecord.topscms.com/i...5fcd66baa.jpeg

I guess now we'll have to go big:

http://images.dieselpowermag.com/new...ase_aeiral.jpg

Bill can't compete with this one. It can just carry too much. Of course, it's so slow that Bill can carry all of the shuttle parts to the launch pad and they can just assemble it right there. Even with his impressive driving, the crawler beat him by a couple of hours. Next week, Bill is going to reinforce his roof with the stuff they make cockpit doors out of and then NASA can just put the shuttle up there and he'll have it to the launch pad lickety split! After all, it takes those losers til 4:50 to load the shuttle and the launch pad closes at 5:00.

I meant the engine its self, but that is a good point.

Wow, I could not stop laughing!

Yes, I would rip the Hybrid apart.

I am guessing that truck has enough mods to out pull me.

I have more HP, but I can not take a 5th wheel.

you are joking, right?

that would out pull me.

that would out pull me, but I think you could have found a better pic of one...

I cant out tow it, but I am highway legal.
