All the towing was not scraping. I have made 41 scrap trips, at 58 miles a trip,
that is a 6097 pound average pay load and 2378 miles.
That is from my house to the scrap yard and back, I have to do a lot more driving to pick up loads.
That is about half my towing miles, the other half is some of every thing.
I have hauled cars, furniture, concrete and building supples etc.
plus my tractor all over the place.
35000/2378 does not equal 1/2... you just keeping comin up with excuses its so comical. I'm done with this thread, just like art has said, it is contained and people can choose not to poke in. So ladies and gents, enjoy arguing a pointless conversation that everyone except gas guys are wrong in.

I have to go pick the stuff up from wherever it is, and that does add up to half of 35,000 miles.
I am starting to get the idea that it does not matter what I say, you only read the parts you want to.
A 6.0 is reliable with supporting mods (see Diesel Power's writeup; headstuds and egr delete). Expensive: yes, but will make one heck of a reliable truck.
Agreed, but good 6.0's are getting harder to find now used, with lots of miles on em already, and most dont like the idea of having to sink an additional +3k into the motor to make it reliable. Once done though they are a great motor from what I have seen.

Not a done deal. I'd wager there are more Triton modulars on the road than PSDs. Dont forget about the 150, and that the 5.4 and 6.8 are the same basic design and shared most the same probs. They have had probs too, but more PSD's have turn die hard Ford fans to Chevy and Dodge than any other motor I am aware of. Why do you think Ford is ditching Navistar Powerstrokes? Many reasons, I know, but in large do to all the problems and warranty claims.

No doubt. Lets hope its only happened once or twice and aint going to happen again. This is a good way to kill somebody and partly why there is a huge drop in insurance once a guy hits 25 years old me thinks. Bill I know your a teen and bragging is big thing I am sure, but I would not repeat that fact again ever, really.

Agreed.
Ford ratings for my V10 is about 15k#. Thats thier raiting, with warranty in mind, and a big cusion mind you. I'll never be pushing that limit so its really of no concern of mine. However pulling heaving I am certain the PSD beat me in a race. I'm not much into racing so that dont bother me. To me the V10 is a more economical choice unless your pushing the limits or towing in the mountains, and from what I hear last just as long.
