Somehow I do not see the need for reliable PSD in a F350 on 40" Cepek Fun Countrys, Especially since it is a 1978 Move to the dent side forum.
It will be on & off road use. I could not refuse the deal on the 5.9. Traded a 1994 4.9 pick up for it. Just turn up the pump & timing & go 1 wire to the engine fuel shutoff & 1 wire to the starter.
Excellent find! But what's with the Chevy tow vehicle?
The guy I got it from has a Cheby said if I get it this week he would deliver it for free. (With the Cheby)
Now Kel How are we going to get the Cummins hooked up. I have to start a build thread in Antique Trucks. I still can't believe I found a truck this clean. The thing is like mint For it's age, Love the old school lift too.

One observation I would make, because my GMC is similar vintage and same body style. I have a small block, Turbo 350, and NP 205 transfer case. I HATE that my front driveshaft is so short, and uses such a steep angle with the lift. In fact I had to have a custom dual-CV driveshaft made for it.
Meanwhile, my neighbor down the street has a Ford like your new one here, and it has the detached transfer case, which sits way back, almost in the middle of the truck. I LIKE that. His front driveshaft is long, with very little angle despite a fairly aggressive lift. I am sure there are folks here who know exactly what I am talking about. I think there is actually a short shaft that goes between the tranny and the transfer case.

Yep it is called a Divorced Tcase 3 drive shafts. Reduce the drive line angle for lifted trucks, The Dana 60 KP HP also reduced the angle. the older 60's are a low pinion case. The 78 -79's are Hp reverse cut.

I know exactly what you are talking about. My highboy had the divorced transfer case, and a low-pinion front axle. Both my brother and I broke that front driveshaft going over certain "obstacles" in the woods
If I had my druthers, I'd opt for the dual-CV driveshaft at a steep angle to keep it out of the way
