From what I have always been told a 6.0 make more power much easier than a 7.3. If you are modding a 6.0 then you are probably covering all the problem areas (egr, head studs, turbo) and therefore making it more reliable.
now if you are just going to put a tuner on a stock motor you are asking for troubles out of each of them if you go run it on a hot setting. You can run them on a low setting and get better mileage and quicker throttle response without damaging anything on a 7.3. don't know about the 6.0.
I have not heard of any record breaking 6.0 motors.
The 7.3 is not a record breaking motor either. What I meant was, you never hear of 11 second or faster 6.0 trucks.
I have never put my V10 on a track, but a high 17 or low 18 is what I would expect.
I need to cough up the cash for a 5 star tune on it, and I am trying to find the PI heads in a junk yard. those 2 things and a gear swap would make it a high 16s, low 17s truck and a much better tow rig.
I read one of your posts that you said from a dead stop to 35mph it is real sluggish. A gear change will make a world of difference in that area for sure.

yep, just need to choose 4.10 or 4.30 so I can do it. Also have to chose brand of LS to use.
I really don't keep up on times, but it isn't like the 7.3 is well known for 11 second runs. I highly doubt there are more than a couple if any regularly running the the 11's, but I may be wrong. Just to get a 7.3 into the 12's takes some serious cash.
I just don't think the 6.0 is that bad of a motor once you fix the problem areas, and once you do it can make a lot of power.
Modifing any diesel to get into the 11's take serious cash.
The PSD is not the cheapest diesel to run 12's whether it is a 7.3 or a 6.0.
On youtube I just saw a 7.3 run a 10.86 at 124mph.
How well does the 6.0 do in sled pulls? I have never been to a truck type pull before so I am asking a fair question. All I ever hear about is how much the 6.0 sucks. I do not have anything negative to say about it and I try to stand up for it, but I have no experience with it.
And yes a 6.0 makes much more power then a 7.3. Ive been running a very hot tune on the factory tty bolts for 10k and there still holdin. Im not puttin new sticks in or turbo till i get studs, but im not doin them till they let go.
The people who say the 6.0 sucks are usually people who havent owned one or just got a lemon. All you here is the horror stories, but there is just as many if not more succseful 6.0s out there.
