good to hear that most of you guys are coming through without a lot of personal damage.... Hopefully Scott will come out ok as well. We had 5 inches of rain in 24 hours here in iowa from a feeder band from Ike ..we got it easy compared to most of you.

it will go until ft above sea level equals the storm surge heigth.. most of these places are anywhere from below sea level to 3-12 ft above sea level. that could be 20 plus miles as the crow flies. Our house is less than 20 miles as the crow flies from Vermilion Bay, but we are 24 ft above sea level...most of these low lieing parishes is marsh land but it is still populated enough to cause some pain unfortunately

Ok guys and gals, just got off the phone with Scott. He sounded good an in good spirits. Said he has heard 3 days to 4 weeks before power is restored. So that part is anybodys guess. The heat and humidity is what is bothering them the most now. 90 degrees and 65+ humidity, no air all ads up to a long night. They were in the truck with the AC running when he called. They just did hot dogs and chili on the Weber and washed it down with tequilla. The nearest town with power and rooms to rent is over 100 miles away so they plan on sticking it out. He's heading to Lowes, 50 miles away at 6 am to try for a generator. Got my doubts on that one. Any way he wanted to thank all for their thoughts and prayers.

Barry, pls tell Scott I have two 6500 watt generators and two 110v window units he is more than welcome to. In fact I will meet him 1/2 way somewhere. Also, have all the gas and diesel he can look at.
And if that doesn't work out, a 5 bdrm house with all the cold air he can take. The offer is open, PM me for a cell #.

Same here. Just thought I would throw it out there. If anyone needs anything feel free to let us know. We don't have much room in the house but we always have the Travel Trailer. Also have a generator ready to go if you can use it feel free to ask. I'm not working for the time being, so even if you just need some help cleaning up. Let us know.
