In case anyone is interested, I uploaded a little bit of our local weathercast.

When they show Conroe, that is where we are...

Don't let the category number fool you. There's really no difference in a strong Cat 2 and a weak Cat 3. 1 or 2 mph difference is no big deal. There is a huge difference between a Cat 2 and a strong Cat 3, but that doesn't look like it will be an issue.

The good news is, Ike looks like it will start moving pretty quick once it makes landfall, so inland flooding and some wind damage will be a lot better than if this was a slow moving storm.

Joe, I'll take over your fishin duties for tonight. Keep an eye out for those downed lines tomorrow.

You're right, Eric! Are you in Navasota? Bring me some Ruthie's BBQ!

As soon as that eye gets here we are launching the jet ski....
Just north in Millican, I dont know about Ruthies BBQ, round here the good stuff is Junek's BBQ. I love their sauce.

Give a shout when it's time to launch the ski, none of this "hold my beer and watch this" kind of thing either.
The EX has my ski or I'd join you.

SCOTT...I know you were just joking, BUT, if you do get the eye the kicker is that when the backside hits.......it is damn near instant. Don't venture far at all. I aint kidding!!

The winds are kicking up and we are starting to make limb down calls here. No trees yet, just some huge limbs. And the fun part has yet to begin.

Hey Barry, how late are YOU gonna be up.......

Chris....fish away.....

Man, I'm struggling now, been up for 36 hours now and only 4 hours sleep before that. Sometimes night shift sucks. I will hang as long as I can and be up early to check up. My phones work all night and should I sleep through the call, I will be checking early.

I'm used to it. Not too bad for the first 48 hours. It's just the curse of third shift workers. Still wouldn't change for anything, yet.
