Glad to hear that things are starting to look up for some people. I know there are a lot of people that aren't feeling that way yet. My thoughts, prayers, and offers for help still go out to them.
Hey guys, just got to the hotel and got the dang internet to work for a while. You would think the Hyatt Park would have working internet. Glad the power is back Scott. It's good to see that green light on and I'm sure you're glad to see any light on. I hope you got that cheesebuger you were wanting. I know you were having red meat withdrawal when we taked yesterday. How bad was the plant and are you going to have to fly to the other plant? Got your text, just never had time to respond. Busy with the show. I haven't heard from Rick since Tuesday. He's probably busy at the store. He hoped he could get in yesterday or today. Dang glad you survived and Scott, you should tell them the really good news you got from FEMA.
Thanks, Barry. Red meat withdrawl....you just don't know. We ran out of meat on Tuesday with our last rib and sausage BBQ. I'll tell ya, MREs suck. I have a whole new respect for our military people. Not only do they not taste that great, but they are a pain in the butt to prepare. The instructions are funny though. They say, and I quote, "find a rock or something" for you to prop the package up on. I got a real chuckle out of that.
I have a conferance call with Springfield this morning at 9am and we will decide what we are doing next. We have problems in that we need to move some tooling to Springfield to do the job that we need to get out. The tooling weighs 4000#s. No electricity = no cranes. The tooling is sitting in a part of the plant that is inaccessible by forklift. There in lies my biggest problem, how do we move it? Working on that today also.
I have talked to both my insurance company and FEMA and between them they say the house will be taken care of. Also, the best news (that Barry refers to) is that I will be reimbursed for the generator. The handwritten receipt, that the guy wrote for me alongside the highway, is all that I need.
It's good to be back with y'all. Just wish the plant would come back up now. Lots of guys not working and I'm starting to worry about them. They're hourly and if they don't work, they don't get paid. Going to do my best to keep as many as I can working today.
Next problem, the tooling is on a rack and is about 6' above the floor. I think what we will end up doing today is moving some equipment out of the way, so that we can get to the tooling with a swing mast. Then we'll ****** it off of the rack and head to shipping. Sounds easier than it is but we are going to have to do what we have to do. This order must ship. Might be a long day.
We made out better than most. No injuries and only minor damage done around the yard. The house sustained no damage. Still no power, but I did find a generator on Friday morning before the storm. We have been running the house fridge and the garage fridge and freezing jugs of water for all the neighbors. Power not scheduled to return at home or office until after Monday the 22nd.
As some of you know my truck is in the shop for repairs resulting from a minor accident I was involved in. In the meantime, I have a Dodge 1/2 ton rental. After the eye passed and the wind changed direction one of my neighbors trees snapped. The tree missed their house and my garage by inches but landed on the Dodge. Glad mine was in the shop! Here are some pics.

A couple of come alongs, strapped to the ceiling.. I have been there, where it just seems like no matter what you try, its gonna be fun..
Conference call done and we are staying put. Entergy says we should have power late today. Plant Engineering is going to bring the plant up in phases tommorrow and leave it running for Grave shift, Sunday night. We should be back in full operation Monday. Mandatory seven days a week, until further notice.
