Last night Scott had said that he had power lines near his house. The explosion may have been a transformer going. I has heard and seen them blow. It wil scare the chit out of you.

Yeah, we used to live right across from one when I was a kid. I have actually seen that transformer blow on at least 2 separate occasions off the top of my head, and heard it many other times. We get some bad T-storms around here.

Ive been worried so ive been up on the weather channel all last night and some times this morning early, and ive been tracking the eye.. I was on the Interactive Radar where i could zoom right down onto Willis and see the streets. I was asleep when the eye passed over you all, but it probably wasnt much of an eye as it filled in completely with "light" rain, but it does look like it had went directly over top of you all, now the final HEAVY yellow/red rain bands are about to come pass over Scott, he's getting some now. Its downgraded to 80mph TWC reports.

Just wanted to give an update;
I still have power, winds are gusting up to 60 mph, the eye is currently over the Huntsville area.
Scott, everything ok over there?
I have one tree down, didnt hit anything major, although my dog may not come out of his house for a month he's so scared.
So far all of my neighbors seem to be ok, cant see any major damage, but its way to windy to go out and check.
I hope everyone else is ok, I'm praying for all in the storms path.
Just remember everything but us can be replaced!!!

It looks like Ike has done most of its damage so far I hope pray that Scott, Rick, and everyone else faired it well because from the looks of it this one did some damage.

I was watching on TWC about 30 minutes ago someone had a Silver 7.3L CC SB F-250 pulling a power pole out of the middle of Nasa road any chance that would be any one of our members?

Glad to see you made it through safely Eric! You are right one that we cannot be replaced everything else can be rebuilt.

Good Luck with that, Most of the time recovery efforts are slapped to gether, with no one really confirming with whom ever. I tried 20 different ways to get something going after Katrina. Finnally found a local Church that needed help moving stuff down there. Mostly the Red Cross wants Money, as much as I was dissapointed with that answewr, it made sense, they could direct it, control it, and share it if they got to much..

Oh, forgot to mention, it was a local TV channel that advertised that the church was looking for a truck that could haul their stuff down. 2, find out where they want you to go, before you go..and depending on where you go, might consider being armed.. sorry for that, be safe in your choice. People have a tendancy to make bad thing worse sometimes. 3 take your Dmax, it wont hurt as bad if it comes up missing or damaged.

Just talked to my sister who lives in Huntsville, her and her family are alive and kicking.
No damage to her house, trees down, no power, and no land line.
She's north of Scott, who I hope is doing OK.
My aunt called, my cousin who is a USFW Game Warden just got dispatched to Houston to help maintain order. Be prepared to protect your property and families from the idiots who will take this opportunity to loot and steal(from my cousin).
23,000 DID NOT heed the mandatory evacuation from Galveston and areas south of Houston, Lord I hope they all make it out alive.
I will try to keep everyone up to date as time permits.

I just watched the latest from Galveston on the Weather Channel.
There were large boulders thrown up over the sea wall, laying in the middle of the street.

Just to let all know, I haven't heard from any body yet. Not going to call them as they all said they would call me when they were able. I know Rick was planning on having his tractor running as soon as possible clearing streets and helping the fire dept. I know the services are jammed and cell towers are more than likely down. We will just have to wait a see and believe all it well. Us PSD owners are a tough breed for the most part. I've had my phone with me all day and will continue to. Will post as soon as I hear anything. Until then, continued prayers are about all we can do.

I just got a text from Scott.

He and the family are ok. Minimal damage to the house, some trees are down and they are still being pounded but not as bad. He can't call out and his cell service is spotty.

Next time I hear from him, I will update again.

Thanks, Barry and Cris, for being so faithful to keep us updated. Once I spread them around, I'll be looking for an opportunity to rep you again.

We watched TWC last night and this morning from Mobile, and it seems as though the surge was not as bad as they had predicted, though it certainly has done some severe damage.

Glad to hear that Scott & Family are fine... any word from Rick yet?
