Haven't heard from Rick, Hope he is Ok, Here is the lastest hurricane state for his area. I think he is in the Cameron parish. Don't look good for that area either. Hurricane Local Statement for IKE
Just heard on Fox News Channel they are charging $7 for gas in a town in Tennessee and over $5 in many of the areas around Houston. Not only do folks have to deal with a natural disaster, now there gonna get taken advantage of.

man that is ****t up! If they want to limit it......then restrict people to 15 gallons or something! Don't take advantage when they can use every spare cent in a time like this!!!!!!!!
I hope everyone stays safe and don't mean to jest at such a serious situation, but what the hell is Heraldo (Fox News) doing trying to hold up pieces of pavement in 100 mph winds and holding onto palm trees...... have the news reporters become idiots?
Hurricane Ike from space. Kevin, North Texas Powerstroke Assoc. sent me this photo tonight. I thought this one looked big on the radar....this is imense.....
Hurricane Ike is hours away from landfall on the upper Texas coast, and is already generating huge storm surges in Texas and Louisiana. Although still of Category 2 strength, Ike remains larger and more powerful than Category 5 Katrina or Category 5 Rita. As I discussed in yesterday's blog entry, a good measure of the storm surge potential is Integrated Kinetic Energy (IKE). Ike's Integrated Kinetic Energy has fallen from 149 Terajoules this morning to 124 at 3:30 pm EDT this afternoon. However, this is still larger than the total energy Katrina had at landfall, and Ike's storm surge potential rates a 5.1 on a scale of 1 to 6.
