yeah it is... I'm wondering if we may have a leak somewhere...but...it was below -30 for the majority of that period, the house is only 2x4 walls, poor single pane windows, and poorly sealed exterior doors... I'm sure all that adds to the problem. I wish it wasn't so costly to have natural gas brought to the property. It would cost me $25000, but in a different view, if the propane usage stays at 600/month for 6 months of the year, I'd have the natural gas install paid for in 7-8 years. The investment would be worth that much or more on the value of the property also.
I'm excited to use the wood stove as it will take me back to childhood years living at home. We burnt wood since I can remember. My parents only recently switched to full electric, but are seriously looking at going back to the wood heat.
He's my 3 1/2LB 14 year old Yorkie. Smallest dog you'll ever see.
Good morning Everyone!!
Sherm, that's alot of propane brutha. It may be due to the fact it's not very good the colder it gets. BTU's are much lower when it gets closer to -40 hence the reason your burning more of it. I remember this from the early 90's filling the propane heated trailers at Transx. They would use a pile of it and never get really hot. Good hot burn. Also, the humidity left behind is crazy. Either way, Wood heat with Propane back up and you'll have that place cozy in no time
Good afternoon Clint, Curtis, Gerry, Grant, Randy, Falcon, Sherm, Steve and all who lurk here. At -6°C it`s a fairly day here but tonight will be another cold one then Thursday warms up in time for this weekend.

I`ve heard that propane is by far the most expensive form of heat and as the temps drop I have a very hard time to light my propane torch. I really like wood heat too.
Even everyone. WE GOT A PUPPY!! Well, hes reserved as ours but we don't have him yet. Either way my girlfriend and I are both super excited!! He's not the original one I wanted but this one is better suited for our colder northern climate. Here is a few pics of him and his sisters (which are still for sale). He is the one with the white nose
I really wish I could Gerry but that's too many dogs for me and my girlfriend to take care of. Maybe once I retire I'll have a few of them but for now 1 is enough lol.
Very Cute Pups Randy!! Cream of the crop there with the white nosed one FUR SURE!!
