Yup, happy Friday all!!! Fired up the wood stove last night. Got it stoked up good and the furnace never cut in for 6 hours The wife even got her hoody off. Thermometer was reading 78 while the thermostat was set at 72. Awesomeness in motion.

I love big dogs. Would really like to get another but feel like Morris, its hard to give so many the attention they all deserve. I guess I could always pet them with my feet.

Hope everyone has a good one!!!

Awesome Sherm!!! There's nothing like wood heat. I absolutely love it. It's messy, hence the reason the wife won't allow it in the house, but the mancave......that's MY domain

The 580 CK and 580B are notorious for failing ring and pinion. Not supposed to use the diff lock, not supposed to do heavy pushing or loader work with them.

This one had broken the ring gear a few years back and previous owner replaced the ring gear with a used one and put it back together. Didn't touch the pinion (which requires splitting tractor) and didn't check backlash or carrier bearing preload. So that lasted a few years before the new used ring gear broke and now I own it so I am fixing it properly. The carrier bearing plate and side gear on the left side were also casualties.

Good carnage.

Skzuk - thats unfortunate for you man, hopefully after you fix it right it'll last a long time.

Morris - I'm heading down to just east of Winnipeg, about 5 minutes away from Curtis actually.

Evening all.
Awesome pics Skzuk!! Doing it right is the only way to go, last ya forever now!!

Randy, when your out, shoot me a text.

Was out blowin snow this afternoon when the North winds hit. Temp dropped 16F in a matter of, felt like, minutes. Drove out to Selkirk and did the MIL's, tranny's shifting back into OD but doesn't hold it very well. All and all a heck of a day for Friday!! Glad I waited till this afternoon to grab the neighbors Kubota, just when I was heading out there was a white out for 1/2 hour. Mini snowballs snow. About the size of 1/8" ball bearings. Then the winds hit..... Just threw the facemask and goggles on and hammered down. Didn't actually "shovel" as much as usual, but at least I got outside and did something usefull today!! Back to the couch and good ole ice pack
Hope all you FTE's have a GREAT weekend!!!!!
