I heard today that a semi hit the ditch south of Regina because of the wind and there was a ton truck pulling hooked to a gooseneck trailer was in the ditch because of the nasty cross winds yesterday.

I`m glad we had the warm weather before the wind hit, other wise we`d be plowing snow for days.
A semi was on it`s side yesterday morning just outside of Saskatoon.

Our's happened east of Alexandra (I think) Another truck passed our's creating a white out, and the car infront of our truck stopped dead on the highway. Our driver took the ditch, rather than smashing the car with 90,000lbs of certain death. The car kept going, and after a $500.00 tug, all was good.

Happy Friday my ***...

Come home last night to the sound of the sewer pump humming oddly. I go check it out and its hot to touch, obviously its been running dry for some time. Turns out the high winds blowing across the top of our pump-out pipe had frozen it solid so it couldn't pump out. I got it thawed out and turn the pump back on, hoping it would return to normal... No dice. It still wouldn't quit running, also not pumping anything out the pipe. Suspect the pump needs to be primed. No problem says I...problem says the pump. The cap to remove for priming is seized on tighter than my superhuman strength can overcome. Eff this. I place a "no shower/no bath" order until further notice. Need to find a FBH or pipe for leverage to get this cap off.

At least the wind has diminished and its warmer out

Have a good day everyone!!!

Happy Friday mornin'all. Sherm I feel your pain. I've had my share of septic pump problems. I hate the smell. Our pump is in the basement, and when I do any service on it (we have a SEE-FILL filter) the whole house smells for a couple of hours. Have a great day guy's, and stay safe out there.

Good Afternoon everyone.

Sherwin, good luck with the sewer pump.

Grant, I'm guessing you didn't pay close to $10,000 for your 56 without your wife permission?

I hope with all these vehicles hitting the ditch that everyone is going home safe at the end of the day. I wanna go for a sled ride so bad but I cant till I get the lower arm replaced on it

Ah...the sweet smell of success...when plumbing...lol. Got the new pump installed and everything seems to be in proper working order. I'm truly a man of many talents

I've got some of those BFH's Colin. The really cool thing about the acreage we bought is that we made the offer on it "as is". The owners didn't have an auction or anything to get rid of the junk they'd accumulated over their lifetime here. On one hand its a complete pain in the *** because I've got a lot of cleaning up to do. On the other hand, I've been left with some really cool stuff. Most of it I don't have a use for, some of it I don't have a clue what it is, some of it is garbage, and some of it is just plain cool. Like, I now own a electric cattle prod... Never in my life would I have thought of owning a cattle prod. I've got two hydraulic motors that attach to a tractors pto to create auxiliary hydraulics. There's a raft of other junk kicking around that I haven't filtered through yet... Fun times.

Have a good Friday evening all...Kokanee's calling...

Awesome job on the plumbing Sherm!! That sure was a "crappy" situation you were in there.....hehehhe.
Only 3 things to remember being a plumber:
Payday every second Friday,
Crap runs down hill and
NEVER chew your finger nails

Your property sounds pretty awesome to me. You never know what your going to run into under the piles of rubble. We still have old bottles, car parts, coal somehow floating to the top of our yard. Same with my neighbor across the road who's family has lived there since the 1900's. You never know what you may find, we bought ours as is as well. Made for a hell of a clean up when we started the Reno. Guy was a garbage collector with a side of Grow op in the now ManCave. Of coarse we found out months after purchasing but often wondered about the amount of cars that pulled in, then quickly backed out and split. When I reno'd the interior, I had to replace the true Fir 2x4 on the bottom but that was it. Let it dry out and it was solid as a rock. One day when I win the big one, I'll build my own place further back on the property!!
Found an old arrow head from waaaaay back. Did research on it and it was a rare find. Unfortunately, during the move in process, the wife got sick of seeing it above the sink and unknowingly tossed it. Value, who know's. Rare, definately.
