Cool Pooch Randy!! I'm with you against the animal cruelty issues. I believe its pure cowardice that leads people down that path. They take a power trip against a weaker species/being. I'd like for those people to end up in hell with a pack of angry and hungry Miniature Pinchers. I say the Min Pins because I think that would be a longer lasting, more painful experience as opposed to the large breeds.
I love animals. It sucks when they're mistreated because they're not given the choice of where they wanted to end up...
Great pic FQD, I`m guessing thats you in the red n black plaid there..... & your daughter in black with the red toque ...
what do I win... hehehe
Gigger, I don't see anyone over 22-23 in this pic

I really wish I could find the people who just left the puppies to die and give them a swift kick to the face. I'm not a violent person but when it comes to cruelty to animals or children it just pisses me off to no end. Ok my rant is over lol, have a nice day everyone and stay warm
Awesome Randy, be sure to bring him to visit Barker and ChooCHoo next time your in
Those were the days my friends, they say they'll never end ,we'll sing and dance forever and a day. ( old song ).
Nor do I want to try to be a Joan Rivers.
Just bought another horse today, saved him from the meat auction. A 12yr. old Thoroughbred gelding. Nothing way wrong with him, can't jump anymore. Can still trail , flat stuff. $450.
Owners were going to put him down.
Have to make bigger fields, rescued an Arabian mare last fall.
Pics to follow when I get him home.

Good friend of mine does that. She has 4-5 x race horses now. Saves them from the same demise. She works at assinaboine downs, for 15+ years now. There hard to ride, but there still FAST!! And saved at the end of the day!!

Have a good Monday everyone...
I agree, a true test of one's character is not how he treats those that can help him but how he treats those that can't.

Good for you, I don't think its right that they just get put to the slaughter just because they can no long run or jump as well as they use to.

Is there a specific place you go to for horse rescue or just the livestock auction? Very cool that you saved one from an unnecessary and untimely death, though I am getting low on glue... (kidding...) I have some interest in a pair of quieter horses for light riding and acreage companionship. Still have to convince my wife its a good idea. She likes the idea, but wants to go a year or two without any added responsibility just to get into a "farm" routine. Neither of us have owned a horse before, and have limited experience handling them.
Too bad you're back in the deep freeze Gerry. We had a chilly one yesterday but its supposed to be back to manageable today and the rest of the week.
Had our propane tank topped off yesterday. Burned 930 liters of propane in a month Stupid cold weather. One of this summer's priorities will be to make this house more energy efficient, and stock a pile of wood for burning. I've just finished installing a wood stove in our living room, just waiting for insurance to come through so I can fire it up!!! I can't wait. Wood heat is awesome.
Good morning everyone, happy Tuesday, hope its a good one for everybody!!!
