My biggest thing with running hardline us that I like the feel of it as opposed to running SS braided on the entire run. So never said if the frame was a 250 or 350 ? Since you are planning full on suspension revamp add more crossmembers( making mine removable. I dont like the built in frame flex, built into the trucks. I would rather make the suspension do all thwle instead. Also body work does not appreciate the 6" + of frame twist on off camber flex. Look it up it is ridiculous.

So I couldn’t resist this today... 1500$ for the cab and what’s in it. It’s complete in silver paint with underguard. Might be a little steep but they are really hard to find without rust in this part of the world...
This is my 1975 crew cab bought it for $2000 from the original owner. when I bought it back in 2016 it was powered by chevy 350 with turbo 350 trans, had a 3" body lift, and the 35" military tires you see here. Now it has a rebuilt 7.3 idi with a brand new banks side winder, zf5, power heated seats out a 2001 super duty, and new 37" cooper stt pro on american baja rims, dropped the body lift, but do need a 2 or 3" suspension because I mounted the 7.3 to low so the pumpkin is to close to the oil pan. It has now been taken completely for paint.
wow mr butts thats a nice one i have a 75 too i put a 6.9 idi and 4 speed stick in it, actually the stick was original. looks like you need to find a disc brake d60 front to put in it.
Thanks when I first started I was contemplating a 6.9 or 7.3. then I came across a 1991 service for $500. Actually one of the people I do hay and Christmas trees for has a 1992 4wd crew cab that doesn't run for $400 (the guy I bought the truck from's brother). but then I started taking measurements and the pumpkin on the newer 60 sits where the leaf springs are on the the frame so that wont work. I was told that the front end on my crew cab was rebuilt back in the 90's because a hub blew up in California and was parked after that because of how hard it was to find parts.
