Difference in front and rear door windows and regulators - Old Ford Crew Cab Community

This link shows the differences in the glass and window regulators.
The front glass will not work in the rear doors and the front regulators will not work in the rear doors either.

The glass size itself is the same but the track length and track position is slightly different.

I see what you mean. We agree even if I didn't sound like it. I wish I could tell if my front and rear windows were swapped without dissembling both doors. Does anyone have the dimensions. For either door? 2 handed roll up and down deal not so much fun. It stings even more
when the 30+ year old OEM parts worked smooth as butter and the new aftermarket stuff sucks.

What dimensions are you looking for? I know you hate to do it, but I'd just go ahead and take the rear door apart and at least take a look inside. If its taking two hands to roll up the window, something is definitely wrong. You don't want to damage the window regulator or shatter the glass from stressing it out. Rear door parts are scarce.

If you need measurements or pictures of the correct parts for the correct sides, let me know. I'd be glad to help. I have rear inner parts and complete rear doors that I can use as reference to help you figure out what goes where.

thanks pacrewcab. I need the length of the roller track for any glass as long as I know it's correct position in the truck. Doesn't matter which glass.
Also the front edge of glass to the closest edge of roller track.
Could just hook the front of the glass and measure all the way across the bottom and send pic. That would get all desired dimensions no matter what I or anyone would need.
That would help. Your right. I don't want to wreck my regulators

I need to route wiring harnesses to all 4 doors to terminate under the dash.

1. What is the best way to route them?

2. what are some good ideas for going from the doors to the cab? I'm thinking about plastic wire loom inside a section of heater hose.
