Crewcab Only Thread.
Just finished the following: New drive shafts (F/R), All fluids flushed and changed, Holley rebuilt, T-Stat, new aux gauges (dead after a year of being overseas), fuel lines/filters, and EVERY light bulb on board.
She’s getting a smidge of rust around the drivers door (front corner), passenger side front door (aft corner), and the drivers side fender bottom at the mounts.
What’s the popular opinion, new door skins and fenders or cut, patch, sand, blend paint?
If it can be sanded and blended, I would go that route for sure...but I would address the rust spots immediately! Maybe even just sand down to bare metal then clear&cut, then decide on the next step!? Just my $.02
BTW, thanks for your service!!! Nice ride!!
This is the sending from the aft tank.
I bought a crew cab and love it.
its the biggest car i ever owned.
In Holland the avarage car is half the size and weight.
1 cilinder of the 460 has more cubic inches then the complet 3 cilinder engine in my daily driver :-)
I saw from another post that you said it's a 1977 model year truck, but I see it has a 78/79 front grille and hood. Also, with it being a longbed truck and 4x4 it looks like someone converted it to be 4x4 since longbed 4x4 crew cabs were not produced by the factory in these years. You certainly have a rare find in your area!
More pictures would be fantastic to see

you are 100% correct.
I had a lot of papers with the truck and found 1 from Ford Customer Services.
it is build 6 juli 1977 as a 400 CID 4x4 crew cab shortbed in Light Blue :-)
so the truck is completely according factory standard, except grill, hood, engine, color, interior and long bed

I learned a lot taday about my truck.
i love to drive it, it is a bid on the long side for Holland, need 2 parking spots and almost the whole width of my side of the road.

This was the steering set up when I bought the truck. 20” drag bar and camero steering box with welded pitman arm, heim joints with single sheer. Scary stuff!
Double bobbed the bed. Took 30” out of it. 24” before the rear axle and 6 behind it.
As it sits right now. Waiting for shocks. 12-16 weeks.

Now my youngest kid is a senior in high school, and I have some more time and money than in the past, I have been going through the old girl and bringing it back to life. It will never be a "show truck" or anything, but I do love it. Probably going to paint it this year, black and white scheme, that will be unique, but hopefully look like it might have been factory when done.
1978 F250 Crewcab Custom, with the 351 M400 engine. Edelbrock 750 cab, which may be oversized, but its the only one that seems to give it enough. I posted here a while back, I think, but wanted to give some photos. Going to reprime and sand the whole thing down soon, and get going on the paint when it warms up a bit.
Going to go back to the original mirrors before paint, and have a bunch of other things to do. Put a couple of before and after pics of some things I did already.
Be nice to me....
