I'd be looking for places where water is getting in. How is the window rubber on the doors? I personally have a suspect place on the underhood body seam that I need to address.
I need to crawl around the truck for a few hours and take a look. I also need to pull the Mat & headliner and check for rust. Maybe treat it with a rust inhibiter.
Has anyone seen any pictures or diagrams on original assembly of the crew cabs? I'm getting ready to mate the back half of my crew cab to the front half of my single cab. Just wondering we're (exactly) they were originally joined together??
OK I decide to go with the CARR hoop II side steps, question is does anyone have pictures of how they mounted them on a crew cab? curious because the rear doors have that step in the cab.
Or does anyone have pictures of some other ideas.
Thank you

You are doing what?
I may be the only one on the forum that has extensive knowledge of crew cab assembly, structure and cab joining.
You are going to need to drill spot welds along the windshield seam and save your crew roof intact unless it is totally rotted all the way around. Factory floor joints are obvious once you pull the seats.
Thanks, looks like the joint is just under the seat. So middle door pillar will go with rear doors. Is the roof spot welded also or am I to make a surgical cut? Roof is only bad on one section pass side drip rail. I have a donor single cab that I was hoping to cut patches out of. Care to make a trip to sunny Cape Cod?
Maybe just cut the windshield pillar. That's easy to cut and join, no warpage and thicker metal. Then cut the welds along the floor pan, followed by cutting the rocker panel near or on the old joint. Make sure that you have everything leveled out and have the doors aligned perfectly on the donor cab, then match the door gaps before doing final welding.
I recommend starting a build thread and get your pic posting going. Then I can help if you have pics of what your doing or are about to do.
