I am interested in your dyno #'s running the microtuner.
SC has plots on their site.
Remember, for a turbodiesel to have correct HP readings, you need a dyno capable of creating load (this removes nearly every dynojet, because most dynojets are inertia only).
DJ does have some dynos with eddy currents, and these would be appropriate for dyno testing your truck.
A good indicator of gains is to run the truck at 20-30% load stock, then again at the SAME load % modified.
Unfortunately, on an inertia dyno, both stock and mod numbers will be low, particularly mod numbers, because the load is not great enough to create boost (unlike on the street, where there is PLENTY of load, not just a roller free-spinning).
Load=boost=airflow=fuel=power
This is why Turbodiesels are so great at towing, they react quite well to load.
I've been BUSY BUSY BUSY working on The DDD Directory/DDD Racing.com and getting ready for launch, so I've really been out of the loop with Superchips and what's going on with their new products.
The guy who I started training to tune the powerstroke before I left no longer works for SC, so I'm not sure who has taken on the project.
Looks like things are going very well with the Flashpaq format though.
Before I left, I told them what a great site FTE was and what a great place to advertise it is, and it looks like they got some large banners.
Good to see it.
Ken gave me a lot of space for a long time while posting in this thread, and I appreciate it.
I'll still be around from time to time, but just so many things to do.....
Regarding weak shifting especially the higher gears. I would also like to find a way to beef up the trans, 34000 mi the trans has burned up the high gear and reverse clutchs twice now. But the are still running the original low end clutchs. I guess all the metal and burnt oil and floating debre doesn't hurt the pump either.
I'll get to the point I have noticed real soft shifting going from 3rd to 4th just before the trans goes out and reverse takes forever to grab. Good news is the trans then goes into default and the first 3 gears work better the before.
If I buy a used 1704, can I still send it in for upgrades?
They will more than likely charge you for upgrades if you can not prove you originally purchased the tuner (new) form superchips or an authorized dealer.
Vic - I posted this question on a seperate thread but that got turned into a rant by another poster and when you responded it was only to his rant.
Anyway, I know you aren't working for SCMT anymore but do you have a contact that could give me some type of timeline on when a tune will be available for the latest flash from Ford. I purchased a flashpaq 3.5 weeks ago and awaiting a tune that will actually load into my truck. I have called multiple times and get the same we should have it in a week or 2 response that I have gotten since day one.

I received the new voluntary emissions recall letter that states Ford will reflash the computer to eliminate the EP sensor. I have a Magnaflow turbo back exhaust. Does Superchips have a reflash for the new Ford program and, if so, does it account for stock vs. aftermarket exhuast?
My main concern is that I don't know where the EP sensor takes it's reading. Does the turbo back exhaust change the sensor readings? If so, the new flash would be incorrect since it "infers" what the exhaust pressure is.

Honestly, if your truck is running great.........leave well enough alone, lol.

That is my plan, but it will only work till the next time that I take my truck in for service. I figure they will then do the recall. Since the injectors only last about 20,000 miles, it will eventually have to go in.
Hello, I was wondering about minimum break in time on a new 06 6.0. I've been running a 1704 in my 03 for over a year now, and am probably buying a new truck soon. Don't think i'd enjoy new truck as much running stock for any length of time.
I think I read the answer to this over a year ago when I read the whole thread but cannot remember.
I would run it stock for a couple thousand miles (if you can!) just so if the truck does have a problem you can walk into the dealer knowing 100% it's ford's fault.
just my 2 cents
