CP4 Implosion!!! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!
The way I understand it is the lift pump on the Ford makes failures happen less often than the other brands and no one knows what that percentage is. I do know that the ones that posted here posted because of a failure. How many more are running without issues? Ford know that a certain percentage of the failures they can weasel out of because of rust in the fuel system. Ford will say this is the fault of the fuel suppliers or fuel stations while they could have installed a good enough water separator that water never gets into the system.
Bottom line is manufacturers change suppliers all of the time whether due to product issues, contract expired or they got a better price somewhere else.
And you are correct……..it is all about the dollars!

And, Ford was burying them in frivolous motions and stringing it out to infinity and beyond, mega buck corporations have the advantage.
As I mentioned earlier, I was assigned a Ford Corporate Customer Experience Specialist. She called me today to confirm that I had heard from my dealer that the repairs would be covered under my Ford ESP. She also told me that the parts were back ordered but she was working with Ford Corporate and the dealership to expedite my case and move me higher up in the priority list. She didn't have any information yet on parts availability but would keep me informed as information is made available. The final item that we discussed was a loaner vehicle. We are now on Week # 4 that my truck has been at the dealership. The dealership has no available loaner vehicles. Well,I take that back. They offered me a Mustang Mach E (all electric) which I turned down. I don't have the facilities to charge that vehicle at my house, etc. The dealer laughed and indicated that most customers turn them down on that offer... Anyway, I asked my Customer Experience Specialist about getting me a vehicle to drive. She said that my Ford ESP would cover the rental of any brand of vehicle for 10 days at a maximum of $60.00 a day. I said what about after 10 days since there is no way my truck is going to be ready in 10 days. She then said that she was authorized to extend the coverage of a rental car under the following conditions: the vehicle rented had to be Ford F-Series with a maximum coverage of $60.00 a day or a Ford SUV or Car for a maximum coverage of $45.00 a day. This is supposedly for the duration. Ford will reimburse me at the end of the rental. I am traveling next week so, I will look into this after Labor Day weekend. Honestly, I seriously doubt I can find a rental for of a Ford vehicle for $45.00 a day.... I do appreciate the offer but I think their reimbursement rates are pre-pandemic / pre-Bidenomics pricing vs where we are today.
So I am still disgusted with Ford but I am somewhat happy that I have their attention and I am getting some assistance from Ford Corporate.

I haven't been offered the extended rental coverage, but that would be a big chunk of change to come up with out of pocket for the duration of the repair.
If my truck was in the shop for a month, 30 x $45 is $1350!!!
Hell, that is nearly twice what my truck payment is, plus I would still be paying the truck payment as well!
Plus, I haven't found a $45 a day rental anyway, best I have found is about $60 a day, so that could be covered for 10 days but that's it, and I would still have to come $600 out of pocket for that!
I think I found one offering of a Ford suv rental, but it also says they may substitute a "similar" vehicle, and it was more than $60 a day.
Nothing that cheap including tax and fees anywhere around here.
Do they maybe get some corporate or some other kind of discount?
Cheapest rental near me was like $115 for 2 days for something like a corolla.

my f450 is been at the shop for two weeks come Monday. No action with it either. Told me two days ago probably another potentially 6 weeks!
Other hand I did test drive a chevrolet today, (still don't like as well as a ford, and can't get a dually), but LTZ 2500 dmax. Never drove a new one before. Let me tell you, that transmission is smooth as glass! Feels just like a 17-19 6spd powerstroke. The low end torque was just as good or slightly more then the ford due to trans. Steering wheel is lighter then the ford. GM has came up a long ways since my 2011 gmc 2500. Everything i complained about in the 11 seems fixed. That being said though I for some reason am still a ford Guy "brand loyal", and will keep my 22 f350, i like the guages better, auto exhaust brake, and looks slightly better. But man I tell you they are eager beavers to sell them, and extremely nice. Way, way easier to work with then ford people. I could walk out with a damn near even swap of I wanted to. Have not seen a dealer act like this since pre 2020. Don't know if it's a sign, they see stuff slowing or not!
Another PowerStroke would put me in the same place I am now, sometime in the future.
Plus, there are no trucks available, and if there were they wouldn't be right for my needs, I custom ordered my truck to get it exactly how I needed it.
And, if I ordered another truck, I would be out for a lot longer time, plus a good bit of money, new ones cost quite a bit more now than mine did new.
The only solution is to get my truck fixed and just keep going, then later on down the road maybe see about a new chevy dmax once my F250 is paid off.
