I did, and do, extremely good maintenance on my truck, and am well versed on proper fuel system priming, and the CP4 on my truck still ate itself.

Just installed S&S DPK. Installer said he thought Ford went back to CP3 for 2024. Is that correct? I’ll be ordering a ‘25 this year, want to know what I’ll be dealing with.

No, Ford never had the CP3. The 6.4 was Siemens k16 based and the 6.7 has been CP4 based since the start. Can't go back to something you never had.

The CP3 is considerably larger than the CP4, there is not enough room in the engine valley where the pump sits for it to fit in there.

Been here on my ‘15. 400 miles from home. Towing the race trailer and car. $3600 tow home and $8000 fuel system replacement. Installed a DPK for the next owner…a very good friend of mine. Gotta say though the truck made it 220K miles prior to failure.

The obvious point of the question was are they going away from the CP4? Thanks for the correction.

no talk of it whatsoever. So best choice is preventative and get a DCR put in if given the choice or the bypass kit.

At 68K I opted to put in a DCR as preventative. I still have my CP4 and it was fine. I took it apart some and it showed no wear. But it does not take much to change that.

Trust me, i have been blasting ford for the last month about the cheap *** pathetic upper pan design making the cab and motor removal to do the seal change!
not many paid attention to that forum, as they didn't understand it. Probably 8/10 of you will wxperiwnce the expensive upper pan leak way before the cp4 and upper pan costs similar to the cp4 to change.
I don’t know. We have a ton of them at work in F550s. Many with 250K or more hard miles. I haven’t heard of CP4 failures or oil pan leaks. Is the sky really falling?

We have however, had about a bazillion cam phaser failures on our fleet of 3.5 EBs in our F150s 😀
