Yeah, I am grateful for the help. However, I had to contact them on Twitter to get the help. It is interesting that Ford Corporate has never responded or participated in this thread or reached out to me via a PM. I think the CP4 issue in general is a sensitive issue for Ford given the legal actions in play....
Once the dealer has parts in hand and can get the truck back in the bay, does anyone have any idea as to how long the process takes?
Dealer that has mine says 3 to 3.5 days to do the kit R&R plus all the flushing out of the lines and tank.
Now, that dealer is a very small shop, and their tech's do multiple jobs at the same time, if a tech is devoting his undivided attention to the job, I think it is about 18 hours of billed time, IIRC.
And, take into account the short week coming next week.

Thanks. I got a call from my dealer this afternoon and they have already started work. They said the goal was to get me the truck by next Friday.

Hoping they can get mine out by next friday too, then I have the reverse issue I had when I left it to get fixed, I have to work out how I'm going to get back up there to pick it up.
And, another fun deal, the registration on my truck expired yesterday, and in Texas you have to get them inspected before they will issue the new sticker, so it won't get a new registration sticker until I can get it back home.

The ripple effect of FORD’s lack of replacement parts is huge & costly to owners. I’m glad to hear yours is almost done.

have the dealer inspect it for you. MO can inspect it for TX. It will have to meet MO requirements as well as TX. But won't be an issue.

Texas has always required vehicles to be inspected in the county they are registered in, the inspection station has to connect with the Texas DMV computer system to register the inspection before a new registration sticker can be issued.

I guess one thing I get in Jersey over Texas. No LT diesel inspections at all, at least for personal use (not sure about business use).
I had mine inspected on Friday. He did a better job pointing out things that need repair than my dealer did. The left rear ABS sensor is leaking diff fluid. I guess the dealer tech doesn't bother looking, nor did they grease the front end.
I have a question..... Part of this is coming from the fact that now I am a little paranoid about this truck now and not wanting to get "stuck" side the road....
So they indicated that they found metal not only in the HPFS but also in my fuel tank, main fuel filter. It is my understanding the only parts of my current fuel system that will be "saved / re-used" are the fuel tank and the low pressure fuel lines. Everything else gets replaced. The tank and the low pressure lines will get flushed. So this means that they have to clean out my fuel tank and replace the sending unit, etc. How do that do get all those little pieces of metal out of my tank so I don't have a repeat problem? I would think that would be nearly impossible to do.... I understand flushing the fuel lines but flushing that tank has to be a job and has have a high risk of not being done correctly and then I have metal in my HFFS again.... Someone explain this to me please...

They won't. You have a pair of fuel filters on the suction side that will catch the things that the cleaning won't. The reason for the cleaning is not because the remaining metal will reach your CP4 or injectors and cause a repeat if they don't, it's because you'll quickly accumulate too much crap in the fuel filters and could see fuel pressures issues and _that_ could lead to a repeat.
One of the components of the disaster prevention kits is adding a fuel filter on the return side so that the return lines and fuel tank don't get filled with crap, the filters will catch it all.
As I mentioned earlier, I was assigned a Ford Corporate Customer Experience Specialist. She called me today to confirm that I had heard from my dealer .
I wonder why you were assigned a customer experience specialist…….
what did you do that others have not and when did you do it…..

Yeah, they will flush out the tank, as said above, to keep the fuel filters from getting overloaded with debris.
No way they will get every shard of metal, but the filters should get what they miss when flushing the tank and low pressure lines out.
I have already considered an early next fuel filter change after getting my truck back.
Also, I don't think they will replace the in-tank components, just thoroughly clean them before re-assembly.
And, there really isn't a suction side on the fuel lines, there is a lift pump in the tank, so all lines are pressurized.
