I personally prefer hanger drop lifts on these trucks, if you actually want to lift it. Because it keeps stock ride and geometry.
Also curious if there are any more bolts that secure that front hanger drop besides the large bolt that goes through the spring hanger hole, seems like it would be prone to some slight rotational movement, the rust around the bottom leads me to believe it was moving around a bit..
I think your still going to be about 1" nose high still with the rear block. Dont forget to torque the rear ubolts again once you put the truck on the ground on its own weight then again after some miles.
Can you snap a pic of the track bar bracket? Wondering if it has an equivalent drop to match the hangers.
Not whistling dick! I like the lift myself. Unfortunately the track bar will not work with the current bracket. I either need a new bracket that has a drop or a new track bar. Maybe an adjustable one.
The lift bracket on the end of the leaf spring only has that one bolt holding it. It has a groove it sits in so has not to rotate much. We measured from ground to wheel well. With the 4-inch blocks in the back it levels it out within a half inch. We don't currently have the blocks installed but, we lifted the truck up to the spot that it would be and we did all of our measurements.
Hate to say I called it. Nah, gonna pat myself on the back. Yes, drop brackets OR longer bars are available.
You CAN drive without it but you'll experience some bump steer. Google the term if you're unfamiliar.
Well you did call it.
The track bar is just not going to work. I don't want to force it if it's not going to work anyway. I will look and do some drop brackets and some longer bars. Just depends on the price of them on which one I will get. If not both. I don't want to drive it like that. It can wait a little bit I guess.
Dadgum looks like atleast 3 or 4 of us where typing at the same time.
Tristan we are loving watching along on your build.
Not sure about a extended bracket at a box store being available.
Guess you may need to remove the front lift for now.
Figure it out and put it back on later maybe in the spring.
The problem is I don't have the drop shackles for the back of the front springs.
There was a bunch of us talking at the same time! I'm not sure yet. I'm going to do something. I'm not going to drive it like it is though. Luckily I could ride my bike to work and be there in 5 minutes. It won't come to that though. My dad or my boss can drive me. My boss is like family. I will see if I can order a longer bar somewhere. Maybe an adjustable one?
Take bolt completely out of the shaft end. Align like these pictures show, should slip on easily.
will do! I had already gotten it on but, we had to put a flathead in there and turn it to open it up a little bit to get it to go on. It was not in this orientation. I put mine on the same way I took it off. Obviously somebody else has been in there and put it on wrong before which led me to believe I was putting it on right. I will take it back off and fix it sometime this week. I'm not going to drive the truck right now.
Thanks for the pictures and your help!
If you click on the picture <guess that didn't work, the link is below the pic now> it'll take you to the product page which has the installation instructions available. It also states on the product page that the factory track bar is retained.
<Edit: On second look it's probably not rough country. Similar concept though, so maybe the instructions will help.>
This particular excerpt from the instructions may be useful:
22. To reattach the factory track rod it will be necessary for two people to perform this task. With the vehicle running, turn the steering wheel until the track bar aligns, install factory bolt and torque to factory specification.
From the pictures, it looks as though you have stock hangers both front and back, just with extension parts bolted in? Can you just take those extension parts out and bolt it all back up in stock form.
I have some spare stuff I can ship quick if you need, just not sure what all is laying in my pile of stuff yet is all :-)

That was my vote this afternoon.
Just figured it was easier to go stock now and revisit later if wanting to use the lift. Back on the road without having to ride the bike in the cold.
But then again, it’s not my truck so my “vote” really doesn’t mean squat. 😂
If I were you, I would be looking to remove the lift kit if it is bolt on and leaves the factory brackets and hangers behind. If that is possible at this point.
That seems like the fastest and cheapest way to get the truck on the road.

Because you surely are a Prince, which is why this thread is frothing with everyone wanting to help you.
Most guys would be bichin and moanin with woe is me... but you're like, I'll ride my bike!
And at every juncture, thanking everyone along the way.
Your purple reigns.
You can meet the man himself at a north GA GTG! Not too far 8f a drive really...
I hear what everyone is saying about removing the lift and I believe it would be one of the quickest, cheapest ways to get the truck rolling again. Albeit a bit of a pain lining everything back up maybe?
Here's what my dad proposed: Add 2 inch steel block spacers under the upper track bar mount with longer bolts so that we could hook the track bar up. For now at least.
I mean ABSOLUTELY no disrespect in saying that and am not talking down on anyone saying that there ideas are bad or anything like that. I am simply throwing my dad's idea into the mix to get a few of your kind, intelligent minds on it and maybe get an opinion or 2! So, what do y'all think? And thanks in advance!
If im seeing what i think I see, It looks like the rear shackle hangers aren't stock and replaced the factory hangers. I think you'd need some stock hangers to lose the lift.
i think that would be ok on the trac bar mount as a temp solution.
