If im seeing what i think I see, It looks like the rear shackle hangers aren't stock and replaced the factory hangers. I think you'd need some stock hangers to lose the lift.
i think that would be ok on the trac bar mount as a temp solution.
You are correct. The rear hangers are longer than factory as well. I would need new rear hangers as well.
Just for now anyway. Here is just about the only e99 adjustable track bar I can find. It looks like it's well made. It'll be a bit before it gets here though. I think the spacers will work for the time being until this gets here. I haven't ordered it yet. Thanks!
From the pictures, it looks as though you have stock hangers both front and back, just with extension parts bolted in? Can you just take those extension parts out and bolt it all back up in stock form.
I have some spare stuff I can ship quick if you need, just not sure what all is laying in my pile of stuff yet is all :-)
Thanks, I appreciate it! I'm not sure what the plan is yet. For now it's no big deal to have my dad drive me till I figure it out. Thanks for the picture on the steering spline orientation! I'm going to have to go fix mine tomorrow! Thanks again!
Of course it does! I take everyone's vote into account! Sometimes I might vote a few extra times though!
As you should!

I thought it just looked like there was an adapter plate positioning the stock hanger down lower. You guys are way better at this stuff than me though.

Wow that’s pricey!
Still not changing my vote. I’d have punted and pulled the lift adapters as soon as the track bar didn’t line up right. They bolt on so shouldn’t be hard to remove then reinstall later. Then you can save your cash and buy the adjustable bar when work picks back up.
But don’t listen to me. You are much more energetic and a visionary than I!
Tristan, you pulled everything off the donor frame and put it on yours. Did you forget to take something off of yours? It all bolted up on the donor truck...

the front is an adapter plate but the rear hangers would have to be replaced with stock. It's longer than factory. It has the proper frame mount but the hangar itself is lifted. I would have to buy those before I could completely remove the lift kit.
It is a bit pricey. I'm hoping the steel spacers under the upper track mount will fix me up for now.

You are correct - he DOES have the stock hangers and shackles. The front ones are mounted to the goofy adapters and the rear ones use a bracket that repositions the shackle pivot from inside the frame to below it. He could easily unbolt it and return it to stock with the parts he has.
Sorry to sound so crass but people (not you, Eric) really need to look under their own vehicles a little more often before giving advice about what is/should be there.

No, I have everything. It's just that the track bar is such a tight fit. I think it may have something to do with the early 99 being different than the 2000 model trucks. I'm not sure to be honest and I'm probably wrong about that. But either way, the track bar will not reach from one mount to the other regardless of jacking, turning the wheels, and ratchet strapping the suspension till it was compressed flat, and then ratchet strapping the passenger leaf spring to the drivers frame, even after all that the bolt hole was still an inch off. We even loosened the top track mount. After all that, the track bar is still too short unfortunately.

It doesn't reach because of the 3" lift. The vertical distance increase, since the bar moves in an arc, makes the bar too short horizontally. The E99 vs 2000 bit makes no difference as the stock bars are physically the same length - just different bolt diameters (and clearance for the larger ends). If the lift was off or the frame bracket was dropped the corresponding 3", the bar would bolt right in with a little wiggling.
These are the pieces in the RH lower
corner of the picture that your shackle pivots are bolted to. They're flipped upside down and mounted below the frame.

I had thought the different year model bars would be a little longer. I'm sorry I do not know more about these trucks. I have never messed with a 4x4 before. I apologize for my ignorance. I do understand that the lift is making the track bar too short but, I still had to try because it was on the other truck and was mounted. I do not know how they mounted it though.....
I also figured it would be a pain to remove the front shackle extensions and try to line the leaf springs back up with the longer rear hangers. Again I apologize for my ignorance and I do not know that this is true.
If you click on the picture it'll take you to the product page which has the installation instructions available. It also states on the product page that the factory track bar is retained.
<Edit: On second look it's probably not rough country. Similar concept though, so maybe the instructions will help.>
This particular excerpt from the instructions may be useful:
I couldn't get the link to open to the web page earlier. It worked now. It should be the same concept then. Turn the wheel till it lines up. But we couldn't get it to do that. I'm not sure.

Don't worry about the Rough Country Leveling kit that Josht posted. That isn't what you have.
You have something more like the Vivid Racing kit that @cleatus12r posted.

I do understand that I don't have that particular kit however, the instructions did indirectly state that with the 3 inch lift, the stock track bar could be reused. And the bar was on the other truck so, the question then becomes, what did I do wrong/not do for it to line up? It should bolt up. Even being the wrong kit, the stock bar can be used with the 3 inch lift. At least that one anyway. Are they that different? Thanks again and in advance for your infinite wisdom!

Finally I get it! I had to get under the truck and look. I now understand how the rear extension is installed and how to remove it. Thanks for schooling me! That goes for everybody! First thing tomorrow I'm putting my rear blocks in. Then my dad suggested we try to get the track bar in one more time. New ideas. If we can get it in, I think I might consider keeping the lift. I kind of like the way the truck looks and, how easy it is to change the oil! You see, I'm a bit big... Not talking about below the belt here unfortunately. Instead above the belt!
It is so much easier to fit underneath the truck now. And I kind of like the way it looks. However, if I cannot get the track bar in, I will remove the front lift until I can get an adjustable track bar. If I remove the front lift, I will wait a few months before I put it back on. The only real reason I don't want to take the lift off right now is because I'll have to go back and put it back on should I decide I want it. Whereas if I keep it on and drive it and decide I don't want it I can simply take it off. Doing it this way saves me one more time of taking the leaf springs loose. At the same time I'd like to drive the truck with the track bar in. So depending on how things go in the morning, I will figure out what to do. I think that sounds like a reasonable plan. But i'd like to hear your thoughts!
