One day I will gaze upon mountainous peaks and deep valley's...... Prob gon be awhile because I'm trying to stay out of relationships and start life on the right foot. Need to worry about work and my future for awhile first!
Not a bad idea, but don't be like me. 36 and still single, trying to figure it out, and wandering if I've waited too long. I am tired of the single life though. Even if you don't date, keep socializing lest you forget how to interact with people. I did that focus on school and career thing straight out of high school and didn't socialize much, even now 99% of my socialization is guys I work while at work or family members. 17 years later I've got a good job that I hate, out of touch with my friends, and no clue how to even meet people. Oh, also back in school trying to change careers so I wouldn't have time if I did know how, taking online classes due to scheduling so can't really meet people there either.
You've done a lot of good work on this truck, look forward to seeing how this swap progresses.
Good luck and take pictures along the way for a write-up if you feel you want to or have the time to.
As for the food thread, it is just good fun with pictures of good food. Some of those fellas are very talented. Most of us heat raw food up one way or another and slap it on a plate.
Front end is off! Getting ready to take off the coil buckets! It's taking me a little while because, it has been freezing rain and 20 to 30° all morning. I have been going in and out in and out of the rain doing what I can when I can. Couldn't really time it because of how much stop and go I was doing.
grinding A X In the rivets and knocking the heads off with the air chisel works really well. I just don't have a big enough air compressor to keep up with it so it's taking a minute.
I just about got the coil buckets off.
I would probably just lay under there and cry in that weather. LOL
Have you got a tarp you could drape over truck hood and make a tent with??
My brother just about talked me into going and getting one of those pop up carports from harbor freight for 120 bucks. I do you have a tarp though! That would be a lot cheaper! According to the forecast it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow and Sunday. I sure hope they're right.
When my work van goes down in winter this helped alot.
You could even get a electric going under there.
What city are you in down there in LA?
Your weather sounds like mine up here in Ringgold Ga
I'm in fairhope. About 20-30 minutes from Gulf shores. It was rainy for the first half of the day and windy the entire day. That wind just cuts right to your bones! I went numb in the hands a few times out there! I didn't take many breaks. I only came in when I got stuck on something and had to do some research (text Jason or Google) on something.
So unfortunately, my brother who came to hang out and help me do my swap if I needed it, ended up having his water pump bearings go out. On the way up here he said it sounded like there was a bucket of bolts rattling all over the place. So I helped him change the water pump out on his vehicle and it took up some time so I didn't get as much done today as I thought I would but, I'm still happy with what I got done.
Full progress: sway bar removed, pitman arm removed, steering gear resealed again, brake hoses changed out, brake hose mounting brackets installed, coil buckets removed, full front end removed and bumper removed. First thing tomorrow I am going to clean the frame where all of the two wheel drive stuff was, it is filthy as some of you may have seen in the pictures. Then, I'm going to start bolting leaf spring shackles and shock mounts to the truck.
Right now, I'm going to go take a shower. A HOT shower!
After wind chill, it was 24° today. Between that and the freezing rain and no sun, it was cold!
