Relay harness arrived on Friday. 11 days ahead of schedule. Quality seems decent for the price at first glance. Ceramic plugs for the headlights. Crimped and heat shrink for the power and ground connections.
Honey Do list was long this weekend.
Managed some time in the shop but didn’t get a chance to get to the harness install.
Luyed 3056 are installed and working properly now that I have tweaked the contacts.
Sealight 3057 are in for signals and brake lights. Hyper flash Engage. Damn those things flash quickly. Not sure if I’m gonna leave it that way or order some resistors to smarten that up.
Killed the batteries. Multiple key on off cycles to check lights = multiple GPR cycles. 1/2hr on the charger and she flashed up.
Since yesterday was above freezing I took it down to the station and topped up the tank to get some winter fuel into it.
There are electronic flasher relays for LEDs that bring tue flash rate back to normal.

Got the headlight relay and bulbs installed today.
My gosh… what a difference and it’s still light out. I’m going for a drive tonight.
Anybody that has ever had the pleasure of getting to the flasher relay will easily relate to me. I am not a violent man but I did threaten to choke the person who designed that location. Plus a few colourful words muttered under my breath as I was attempting the double jointed, while standing on my head, break pedal poking me, flashlight blinding me manoeuvre.

The flasher relay is easy to get to if you follow the correct procedure i.e. remove the entire dash first.
It’s not too bad once you know where it’s located, how to get the cover off, and the orientation to get the new one plugged back in.
1- 7mm bolt holds the bracket for the heater extension duct. Pull the extension out of the way and there’s way more room to get in there with your hand.
Probably take me less than 20 minutes start to finish if I ever need to do it again, but I bet I was 1-1/2 hours today.
Really glad you are happy with that headlight set-up. I’ve been installing and recommending that since ‘drop in HID’s’ were popular. Back then, we did a couple Headlight Shootouts at GTG’s and the ‘02-04 lenses, relay harness and 100/80 bulbs won over everything, every time. Specifically better than the later model housings everyone touted as ‘better optics’ than the 2-piece lenses/corners. Not unlike the current generation of drop-in LED bulbs, the HID’s put a lot of light right in front of the truck, but failed to get that light far down the road as well as the halogen bulbs.
I went to the relay harness when I was sitting behind a car at night and I could see the lights strobing a bit as the engine idled. Plus, the OEM setup was very substandard in my opinion.
This morning driving to the office in the fog I had a thought.
If the low beam is now 80 instead of the stock 55 and if anybody that has ever driven in the fog knows high beams will actually blind the driver by putting a wall of light onto the fog. I’m hoping that the low beams directed down will not have that effect even though they are brighter.
@SkySkiJason do you know how these bulbs on low beam perform in the fog?
On a whim I showed him the Riff Raff CNC Hydra mount and asked him if he could print on for me.
3 days later he dropped off 2. This weekend I hope to get enough time to install it. Way better than than Velcro.
I only need one. First person to PM me gets the spare.
That looks nice. I have a fuel control module for my Titan auxiliary tank. Do you think if I provided him pictures and dimensions he could make one for it? I'd pay him of course. Be a cleaner install into my dash panel.
