Thanks for the clarification John. Brett has been in a few fumes lately! lol

BTW, there is a wad of bailing twine on the seat of my truck for just in case. Handy stuff.

D0UZ-15435 2 prong plugs

These plugs fit the factory wiring plugs perfectly! Only bummer is they are black & red but still better than the birds nest and junk splices the years have built up.

These will work nicely to repair the factory harness previous people have mega-spliced into for numerous trailer plugs!

Good and Bad

Good news is my cab and door bodywork is complete!

Bad is its too cold to spray! !

I have a few tinkering things to do on the exhaust and new knuckle seals but my booth tends to operate at Outdoor Temperature when ON and 28-40F doesn’t cut it.

I would like to paint the inside first with Corinthian White and the Royal Blue Metallic Pearl to match exterior color. Maybe small batches can work...

Won't be any bugs anyway. Can you run the heaters to get the cab up to temp first? Paint dries fast? Or doesn't set up right if too cold?

I can preheat the shop but my paint booth goes to ambient outside temperature in a couple minutes! The problem with cold (as I understand it) is that the solvents will not flash off correctly. This is basically not “drying” leads to increased imperfections and possibly too much settling/thinning as the paint continues to flow too long. I have never been willing to waste $$ on extra wasted paint so have never “gone there”. Keeping in the manufacturer’s specification is ALWAYS a good idea (the guidelines are for reasons even if unstated). LOL. Thanks for the questions John!

With a really good respirator can you reduce the exhaust fans/ventilation to paint small portions?

Ventilation is for safety and so I can see. Not sure if the solvents saturate non-ventilated rooms too. Even during evacuation my respirator does a lot of work

Sounds like a break in the action to me. Maybe there will be a January thaw!

Spare Tire Hoist add

I decided that the newer trucks have a spare tire hoist and I like that feature. Bought a hoist for $14 for a ‘04 F250 and adapted it. The crank will end up coming out of the top area of my license plate if my measurements are correct.

That's for sure. Flat tires never seem to happen when the vehicle is up on a hoist or up on a jack stand.
