Man, that stinks. What brand it is? Looks like a decent bead across the bottom so someone knew what they were doing! I just replaced the one in my '93 yesterday. Not my favorite job. 500 miles since I put the engine back into it and now it needed a radiator! What is going on? After putting the radiator in I pulled out of the shop and the right rear tire was down close to the rim! Filled it up and ran up to my buddy's place and he pulled a 1 1/2 inch brand new sheet metal screw out of it! When it rains it pours but we still have a great life!
That will save some time. Now you need to take it down the road with a pair of goggles on! lol
Not!
Its way past the point of no return so I can only drive it again when its done! I massaged the majority of dings out of the roof tonight. I have 8 holes in the passenger step, three in the cab roof above the driver (maybe vintage CB antenna mount), and aftermarket radio antenna hole on passengers cowling to weld up.
There are lots of holes to weld up. Over the years it looks like a lot of accessories have been mounted in/on this cab. At least that tells you it was used and appreciated but now is the time to delete the unused holes...
I have holes in my step wells too. Can't imagine what they mounted there. Also fire extinguisher bracket holes in door but it started life as a city maintenance vehicle.
From my perspective progress is slow. For example, I need to change reducers because 116 urethane reducer temperature range is for warmer ambience... When I’m using the booth, the Outside air temperature drops the shop temperature due to all of that laminar exhaust already this fall. I feel as if my paint window is closing rapidly!
practice on a scrap fender or something because it takes a little finesse. Main problem I find is if I set the heat too low I cant get it to lay metal down without boogers. Set it minimally higher and it lays metal down but burns through easily. My setup has 0.035 wire so that plays into it too. If I was doing sheetmetal a lot I would have a dedicated “thin metal” setup and my standard. As it is, I just grind off the extra and call it good.
