Thanks for the reply too on the engine mounts. I'm doing a dry fit to make sure everything work and have the cab off right now to get the chassis restored. I was hoping to not have to put it back on for the engine placement, but I think I better for that yolk and floor shifter location. I really do appreciate you sharing so much and with such detail. I'm following behind you and it really helps a novice like me.

Thanks guys. I fired it up last night and it is back moving on its own power again (One of my milestones). From here on out its only paint and assembly!
Sometimes it feels like 1-2 hours a day is not enough to ever get somewhere but I reminded myself that every task no matter how small that does not need repeated is one baby step closer to done! I just hit the 1 year mark working on this project.
Dan-for initial temporary position with the cab off, you can use the radiator and rear output shaft but I wouldn’t make that permanent without the cab to head check and shifter operation.
Verified all gage operation is correct, new heater core functions perfectly, no coolant leaks, dash lighting is all lit correctly, cables all activate as intended, and I moved it around under its own power!
Next is rebuilding the seat. This one is different than Red maybe because its a Custom Cab. This seat has Airfoam which is breaking down. It looks like it was quite comfortable when new! I bought the seat rebuild kit from LMC (I did Red’s with the same type kit in 2002 or 2003 and it is still very nice). Does anyone have experience in the Airfoam used in these seats??
It was sunny so I took some pictures of it in the sun only to find out how much dust has already settled! Anyway it wont be perfectly clean most the time anyway.
Are you 100% satisfied or do you ever find an uncomfortable moment? The LMC seat repair kit is woefully inadequate for my repair!
This seat has two large foam pads. One on the bench and one on the back. Internet searches for the Airfoam and associated part numbers yielded nothing. The LMC kit came with one 24”x57” sheet of 1” foam and one 22”x57” carpet backer, two heavy wires, and hog rings with el-cheapo hog ring pliers. This is inadequate to repair 1/2 a seat (I guess you pick bench or backrest to replace the underlayment and or 1” foam). NOT SATISFIED
The blankets would be quick and easy...
Unfortunately not the vision I have for finished product though.
Long time lurker--have been following the magic you've been pulling off. To be honest that seat foam looks like it came from a newer model vehicle. I did a bunch of google searches of Airfoam and that associated part No. It was showing a bunch of seat foam for 70s F100s. Food for thought--you might be able to order that foam as a full replacement vice repair. Regardless, thanks for taking time to document everything--I've enjoyed it immensely!

Thanks for chiming in! When searched it I got no results. Did you find any replacement foam? What search text yielded something? Thanks!
I searched "airfoam" and then started throwing in the serial numbers on your seats. Started getting results pretty quick once the algorithm kicked in. Haven't seen anything specific to Fridges, but OER makes some replacement sets that are for bowtie products. Found them on Summit, listed as "OER Standard Seat Foam SF202" https://www.summitracing.com/parts/oer-sf202
Might not work, but they look pretty close. Then again, most folks aren't willing to throw $250 at something that's "close"
$300 plus with shipping. Seems like a mom and pop upholstery shop could redo the seat for not much more. Everything else has been done right. Why settle for a seat like I would. My seat was a mouse community. I stripped it out and found springs rusted and broken. Bought a used seat and then neighbor's lmc saddle blanket looking seat cover that didn't fit his '53. I installed it over a layer of carpet padding and it is good enough for my old dump truck. We are expecting you to set the bar higher.

Wow, thanks guys! I appreciate the help and compliments. I called Ecklers today and the sales rep said my best option is an upholstery shop. My appointment to a local foam supplier on Saturday will answer the foam question for locally sourced...
Maybe its unrealistic but I want to do everything on this project to increase my skills (this can, but is not guaranteed to save me $$). Sometimes you pay extra to learn something but thats OK and will improve next time.
