sitting here on pins and needles waiting to see what the morning brings and worrying about others who live in the area directly in the fire.
if traveling, please avoid Redding, it’s a mess right now.
Thanks for posting that, Will - we are planning on going through Redding in a couple weeks -- hopefully better then. Keep yourself safe up there!

Yep -- a couple tips: we keep all our important docs in a sentry portable safe, so to prep we throw a couple more things in there. Also, have a Desktop tower set up as our main home server, takes just a minute to grab the tower. Have clothes and food for you and pets, etc. already packed. There are some non-replaceable items we'd toss in the MH and both of us would drive a vehicle and a trailer. Everything else is insured and stays...
Good luck to you Will - we'll keep you in our prayers...

For or those interested, KRCR News Chanel 7 is the local. They had to evacuate the broadcast studio while the team was on the air.
I hope they can hold it. That is too close for comfort to the hospital that's for sure.
I've been out west on crews myself, the last time was Idaho, Montana, & Utah over 13 years ago now. Got to do some longline work since I had helitack training and we were IA on some fires. Hard work but I miss it.
Stay safe.
