As much as I screw up trucks, it's nothing compared to the problems I have with my trailers. WTH is it about trailers? Always having flats - can't even remember the last flat I had in a truck. Wiring too. Lights quit working, electric brakes quit. I've had to replace axles several times. Had the bearings go out and the wheel/drum fly off two trailers. Another trailer broke the pin running through the center of the leaf spring, which all came apart allowing the axle to twist backwards so that the tire was rubbing against the tire on the rear axle.
Its not like I ever overload any of them. I got two 14k open trailers that I've never had more than 8k on (that's close to capacity since the trailer weighs 3-3500lbs. I also have a 7k open and a two 7k enclosed, although one of those is a project trailer I've never used. Never more than 5k loads on them. All of them have had problems.
Had to replace a wiring connector tonight and just felt like beeching.
Ill post picks of my project when I get back to my computer. Lotsa potential. An old lineman's trailer. Kinda like a Koenig truck bed or plumbers truck with storage bins around the outside and inside but with a roof and roof rack. All fiberglass but heavy steel bed. 4x10 bed inside. About 5' tall inside. Real stout (7k) for that size. Made to hold a big reel of cable inside. Want to make into a small popup camper. It was made in the 60s. Only things wrong are the wiring, which I want to expand anyway, and three bin doors missing. The mfg is still in business but no one there even remembers that they made trailers. They just make truck beds now. Need to find a fiberglass fab shop.
at least I can start and go like a gasser right now, no waiting for the EOT/ECT to get over 100*
the scary part is that we are still way shy of the record for here.
Did you know that from what I can find he started out as a DJ. Also from what I am finding right now he seems to still be with us.
I should hook my mom up with him is he is not married or gay. They were born the same year.

I bet I could wire one up for you that would not have all the problems of most trailers.
I think one of the reasons some people have issues comes down to what they use
them for and how often they are just sitting out back with the mice making a lunch
box out of them. Now guys like you that drive for a living I would hazard a guess that
maybe you just use it too much. They build them thinking it will sit out back by the barn
and only get used once a year.
But really the why I am not sure of other than the people that have them parked most of the year.
You would think that if it's being used then it would be less likely to have issues like the Barn Queens do,
A couple things I do to help trailer tires , when parked out back by the barn ,lol, put a raised brick or wood under the tires , brick works good because it don’t cup trapping water to the center of the tire, and covering the side walls from the harsh sun , having a good rated st Trailer tire is a must , all my Trailers have raised brick where I just pull off it and backer back over the same spot.this has helped in maintaining long ware ,
Obviously, you guys didn't watch the video, or closely watch it, which you will now do, and understand my pun...
And Jack! Crap that is why I thought you put it up!!!!?
I need to watch some TV. Too much of everything tonight, and gawd knows the wife is coming home tomorrow :-(
